The trip offered a wide variety of activities, from hiking and kayaking to cultural visits. The night hikes were a highlight, allowing us to see the southern constellations, kiwis and glowworms. Lakes Wanaka, Moeraki and Pearson, as well as Stewart Island and Ulva Island, were absolutely spectacular.

There was so much to enjoy. The private cruise around Milford Sound early in the morning and the wilderness lodge at Arthur's Pass were outstanding.

From dawn till dusk, we immersed ourselves in learning about and enjoying New Zealand's beauty. The personal connection with our local guides was the pinnacle of the experience. Their insights and personal touch enriched our birding and hiking adventures.

The wilderness lodge at Lake Moeraki, with its incredible rain forest and nocturnal wildlife, was truly magical. See kiwis and hundreds of glowworms in the cover of darkness was astonishing.

Seeing penguins was a great highlight. I was blown away by the ferns and trees in the temperate rain forests! Learning about how those plants evolved in unique ways was fascinating to see.

Visiting the mural in Angangueo and learning the town's history was a highlight, as were the monarch sanctuaries. Seeing so many beautiful birds were also memorable. This Nat Hab trip fulfilled my dream of witnessing the monarch migration.
