If this is your first home buying experience, I couldn't recommend Herman more. He is patient, adaptive, responsive, and personable. He was always accessible to us via email, text, and phone. He's quick to answer questions - never more than 2-3 hours without a response.
He's incredibly knowledgeable and asked great questions to help us narrow down our search. We weren't quite sure if we wanted a fixer-upper or something more move in ready. Herman was patient with us -- we went back and forth on wanting vacant lots to build our own home, a rusty foreclosure, or a move-in ready place. He showed us listings across all three categories and helped us understand what it would be like if we really went through with the purchase.
When we did find a set of lots we fell in love with, Herman helped us figure out details on utilities and building guidelines and surveys. When the surveys came back sub-par, Herman advocated for us to get our earnest money back and jumped right back into the hunt with us.
Our search style was (according to many people) pretty non-standard. We liked seeing 10-12 houses in an evening. Herman hadn't done this before, but after a few nights we were all pros.
Once we found a home we loved, Herman was right there to help us figure out the inspection (his recommended inspector was EXCELLENT!), financing, title work, closing, etc. He met with us many times to go over details and followed up often to make sure we didn't have lingering questions. I can't imagine doing a real estate transaction with anyone else.
