When we decided to start our adoption journey - we had so many questions! Googling agencies to work with was overwhelming. One main hurdle that we kept coming up against was that most agencies are religion based and though we do consider ourselves Christians, we are not very intensely into religion and we felt like many of the faith based agencies would not really approve of this. Also, many seemed so strict in how they defined families. We really wanted to work with an INCLUSIVE agency that agrees with our view that a family is based on LOVE. We came across Lifelong and reached out and it was a great experience from there on forward. The process was explained to us, we felt supported throughout the entire process, we were checked in on OFTEN.
We worried that it would be hard to find a match. We started the process in April of 2023. We had a few matches that didn't fit and one that fell through - that was really tough. It can be hard to stay positive through that but our Lifelong support system was there for us the entire time. In February of 2024 we matched with our birth mom! It was not easy - as adoptive parents, NOTHING is on our control so patience and thinking positively is the only way to get through. On July 1, our sweet baby boy Noah was born and we are currently at the finish line to finalize in early 2025. I am SO grateful for Lifelong and I would recommend anyone work with them! The key is understanding that there is NOTHING straight forward and guaranteed about adoption regardless of what agency you work with. Have faith and patience and lean on your Lifelong team and the people in your life for your mental health - truly, as cliche as it sounds, everything happens for a reason and as it should! Through the disappointments of mismatches and rejections you will eventually get there and it will all be worth it!

Their team was communicative, friendly, and informative - we were able to connect with multiple experts such as parent coordinators, directors, and even those helping to build our profile. My husband and I were looking for an LGBTQ friendly adoption agency when we happened to find LifeLong Adoptions. Just the process alone can be a lot but they were there to help each step of the way. Once we were chosen by a birthmother they gave us resources in the home state to be able to contact for legal. They would periodically do check-ins with us to see how the process was going and what support we might need. Lifelong is an amazing agency with amazing people. My husband and I went through many ups and downs during this process. We talked to many birth mothers along the way and had a several disappointments and a disrupted adoption that was really hard to work through. Through the good and not so good, Lifelong individuals were there with us to talk us through situations, answer questions and provided support when I would call/text to just cry as we both started to think this would never happen for us.
Lifelong felt the disappointments with us however, continued to build us up and encourage us, always saying “it’s coming, just hold on”
Well, I’d like to say that the day did come and it was every bit worth the wait.
I believe in Lifelong because they are real. They didn’t sell us a dream and didn’t paint the picture of no obstacles.
While we are so happy that our adoption went through, we miss our LifeLong family. We send them pics and we keep in touch because they truly became our family.

Five years ago my husband and I adopted a beautiful baby girl in Colorado. Our agency was a Colorado based agency that was inclusive and advocated for open adoption. We were looking for an agency that was similar to our previous agency. When we spoke with Amanda from Lifelong and shared with her our adoption journey, it was like talking to a friend who was just as excited to be part of this process with us.
After the excitement of adopting again wore off and we were in the waiting period, there were some days when we felt like it wasn't going to happen, as soon as our lives were busy we got "the call," presenting us with a birthmom - who couldn't have been a better match for us - she was a young, single mom who already had a 2 year old and wasn't ready to parent again. Once the birth mom selected us as her parents, we had so much to navigate, lots of legal information being thrown at us, lots to do in a short amount of time. Lifelong was there to check in with us and support us throughout this experience. We are over the moon to be parents again and to be a family of four! We are forever grateful for Lifelong making a wonderful connection between our family and our birthmom. We feel like she's just an extension of our family.

My husband and I started our process in 2021. In less than a year we were matched with maybe about 4-5 birth mothers and finally matched with our amazing birth mother at the top of this year. We had a really great connection with her, kept in contact almost daily and visited the family. We adopted in April and finalized a couple of weeks ago. Our adoption process was less than a year. The process was difficult and really emotional, but there are family matches being made through life long. We are appreciative to them for being able to adopt our wonderful son. The son we were meant to have.
I would recommend people who require more hands on coordination and less worry, to maybe go with a more expensive full service adoption agency. However, nothing is guaranteed and no agency can predict fully what a birth mother will or won’t do. Good luck to everyone.

I worked with Lifelong as an adoptive parent. Everyone that I dealt with, from me showing interest all the way up to my beautiful baby girl being placed with me (took 18 months), was so great. They were great listeners and happy to answer any questions I had. They also were really good about providing updates and information during the process. Lifelong is also very inclusive, and they work with all kinds of families.
Finally, I felt good about how the expectant/birth mothers were treated in an ethical manner. It was reiterated through the whole process that it is all about them and we should never do anything to make them feel pressured. I have read many horror stories about how some agencies do pressure expectant/birth moms, and I definitely did not want to work with an organization like that.
All in all a very positive experience!

With any adoption there will be highs and lows - our journey with Lifelong was no exception; however, they were always cheering us on during the best of times (matching with a birth mom, bringing home our baby) and there to comfort and counsel us during the not-so-good-times; even steering us through some heavy emotions. Sometimes, it's easy to blame the company or even adoption coordinators when hope feels lost, or a journey is taking longer than expected (we are certainly guilty of this) but despite everything, they were ALWAYS there to guide us through the process, answer questions, or even just let us vent. Most importantly, they were an advocate - not just for us, but for our son's birth mother; making sure that her needs and interests were being met as well as ours. The waiting process feels long and can be difficult. There are so many complex sides to waiting, but Lifelong is there every step of the way. Everyone tells you “It is worth the wait”, and for whatever reason, we did not find comfort in those words. So we often leaned on Lifelong for support and resources. The day you become a parent is the day that “those words” make absolute sense. It’s about getting through the process first though!
We were fortunate to have a wonderful birth mother that shared her perspective and without Lifelong’s help and guidance, I don’t think we would have our biggest blessing; our daughter!

We matched with our birthmom in December of 2021, and immediately became close. We took her in to our home for last 8 weeks of her pregnancy so she had a safe place to live. We loved those 8 weeks we had with her bonding and honestly missed her after the birth of the baby when she moved back home. At first our birthmom wanted a semi-open adoption but now we have an open adoption. She and the birth father will always be family to us.
