A few Sundays ago, after taking our Labrador to the dog park, he had something stuck in his eye that we were unable to flush out. He was clearly in a lot of pain. I contacted GVG and spoke to nurse Chantelle. She advised that we bring him in straight away, and even advised on the best places to park given that it was a sunny market Sunday.
As soon as we arrived, Chantelle greeted us and was so welcoming and kind. The practice was sparkling clean and had a soothing atmosphere.
It wasn't long before we saw Dr Tomasz who immediately sprung into action. He identified straight away that our dog had a corneal scratch and large ulcer. Determined to find the culprit, he noticed a slither of something protruding from the eye. He and Chantelle took our dog to the back and worked together to remove a 2cm grass seed/foxtail from his eye. The care they treated our dog with meant he did not flinch or cry, despite the nature of the injury.
Afterwards Dr Tomasz went out of his way to explain medications and follow up treatment in a clear and thorough manner. He also ensured our dog left with sufficient cuddles, a wagging tail and belly full of treats.
Two weeks later and our dog has fully recovered with no signs of permanent damage. This is down to the quick action of Chantelle and Dr Tomasz. Thank you GVG for always taking such amazing care of our pets
Update: Unfortunately found myself here again in the early hours of New Year's Day. Once again, the care was exceptional. Dr Beatriz treated my Chihuahua puppy with such kindness, and the quick response of the team when phoning for advice meant we avoided a much worse outcome after he ingested an epilepsy tablet for a dog ten times his weight. Thank you, thank you, thank you GVG!!!
