I called up and brought my cat in when she seemed unwell, received marvellous service. My cat was seen promptly and the staff were very welcoming and gentle with my angry cat.

We have been registered with Stone Lion for two years with no issues but this week I called to get a repeat prescription of my dogs worm and flea tablets as I usually would and was told I cannot be given them unless he has had a check up within the last six months (new medical protocol apparently so you can’t blame them for that if true). I pointed out my dog had a full check up with a vet in September which is within the six month period. I was told “this doesn’t count” and I “have to see a nurse”. The only appointment times to see a nurse are after 4pm. This is a policy the practise has adopted. I was given no notice of this change (which was introduced in the NY) though they claim clients were emailed. I have two small children I have to collect from school and take to various activities every day after school and an elderly father with dementia (who is more challenging at sundown) who I am also caring for and so it is very difficult for me to ever come in after 4pm. I have no other support. I explained this to the Receptionist and was told if I wanted to come in before 4pm I could but I’d need to pay to see a vet (as the nurse appointment is within my payment plan) - and yet a few minutes prior had been told the vet appointment in September didn’t count as I needed to see a nurse. I asked what a nurse does which is different and I was told “weight and a general health check” all of which was undertaken in September. I was left on the brink of tears and asked to speak to the Practise Manager but was told I have to just email the general feedback email for the whole of the Goddard Practise Group. I’m so disappointed in this practise. Where is the humanity to help someone in difficult circumstances. They introduce new after 4pm policy with no notice and then seek to take advantage of my difficult family situation to charge me if I need to come in earlier (I event said I could make it at 3pm before pick up so only an hour prior to the official time). I also offered to come in after 4pm on a Saturday but again was told this was not allowed and if I want to come on a Saturday I need to pay for a vet appointment.

A few Sundays ago, after taking our Labrador to the dog park, he had something stuck in his eye that we were unable to flush out. He was clearly in a lot of pain. I contacted GVG and spoke to nurse Chantelle. She advised that we bring him in straight away, and even advised on the best places to park given that it was a sunny market Sunday. As soon as we arrived, Chantelle greeted us and was so welcoming and kind. The practice was sparkling clean and had a soothing atmosphere. It wasn't long before we saw Dr Tomasz who immediately sprung into action. He identified straight away that our dog had a corneal scratch and large ulcer. Determined to find the culprit, he noticed a slither of something protruding from the eye. He and Chantelle took our dog to the back and worked together to remove a 2cm grass seed/foxtail from his eye. The care they treated our dog with meant he did not flinch or cry, despite the nature of the injury. Afterwards Dr Tomasz went out of his way to explain medications and follow up treatment in a clear and thorough manner. He also ensured our dog left with sufficient cuddles, a wagging tail and belly full of treats. Two weeks later and our dog has fully recovered with no signs of permanent damage. This is down to the quick action of Chantelle and Dr Tomasz. Thank you GVG for always taking such amazing care of our pets Update: Unfortunately found myself here again in the early hours of New Year's Day. Once again, the care was exceptional. Dr Beatriz treated my Chihuahua puppy with such kindness, and the quick response of the team when phoning for advice meant we avoided a much worse outcome after he ingested an epilepsy tablet for a dog ten times his weight. Thank you, thank you, thank you GVG!!!

The little one fell ill right before Christmas (I know, fantastic timing, right?). It was quite worrisome, as this was our first truly serious health concern and required an emergency appointment. However, upon arrival, we were welcomed by a wonderfully calm and reassuring environment. Francesca listened attentively to our worries and did an amazing job putting us at ease, especially considering the stressful nature of the Christmas season. I have nothing but immense gratitude for her and the entire team, and I wish them all the very best for the rest of the year.
