The FretGuru 2 is an excellent setup and evaluation gauge. It cost less than the comparable item from S***M** and has features and quality the S***M** item lacks. I initially bought a S***M** setup gauge and after a short time it began to corrode. The FretGuru 2 features an excellent black powder coating that should prevent this.

Started as a luthier during the pandemic because my normal tech was backlogged 3 months. First tools I bought were a FretGuru 21" beam and the Dagger 1.0 file. Original Dagger file was fantastic and the Dagger 2.0 was better! Has allowed me to create consistent, repeatable results for my own guitars (10 ) and for my clients. Bernie's tools have been the foundation of me building my own guitars and building my business, saving me thousands of $ over the past 2 yrs (and making me quite a bit of $ as well)!Had some questions about the new Diamond Dagger file and I called Bernie - he called me back same day and answered all of my questions! Customer Service is second to none, and I'm a FretGuru customer for life!Dave RobertsRR CustomsTrabuco Cyn, CA

The FretGuru tool is a must have - so much easier to get an accurate measurement than the stainless steel 6" machinest ruler I've been using. As a company they are also 5 star - Bernie promptly answered my email and issued a credit to fix a mistake on the quantity I ordered. Thanks!!!

When I received this sanding beam I immediately checked both sides to see if it meets precision flatness as stated. I used my granite surface plate (Grade A Flat to .00005) to verify the beam...it mets or exceeds specs, which FretGuru specs at .00015" accuracy. It is well built and solid. Bernie sent a nice thank you for purchasing and a care instructions for using PSA sandpaper with methods for removing the adhesive.I plan to use this beam to level fret my guitars as well as when I replace the frets with SS ones. I have no doubt this beam will meet my needs!PS. I got the longest one at 24" so that all my frets will be under sandpaper as I level guitar necks.

I received my FretGuru 2 and I was totally amazed at the quality on craftsmanship. I don't know how I have done without this over the years. Thanks for making a great tool. Keep up the good work.

After a lot of shopping around, I purchased the fret leveling beam, end file, and fret dagger 2.0 to finish a neck from a Stew Mac kit. All three products worked great and are made of quality materials. I have a super playable fretboard with no sharp fret ends and level and crowned frets. Definitely worth the price, especially because cheaper tools are poor quality. I look forward to using them to level frets on my 20 year old acoustic and future builds. I also really appreciated the prompt delivery and personal note with the purchase made direct through fretguru’s website.

Okay, started out i needed a level tool, have 6 guitars and like to keep them all in perfect condition, ok back to the review. After looking for quite a while, they were either poorly made, our out of this world expensive, then can across FretGuru, great price, well made and the reviews gave it dead on balls accurate, so gave it a try, NOW the older tools are in the trash.Figured if that one was so good, i'd try another tool, Dagger 2, well again he blew me away with such accuracy and design, my other fret tools hit the trash. So last but least i wanted an accurate string, fret gauge. Having such success with the Leveler and Daggar, I got the gauge, and again I'm VERY impressed. What can I say, I've replaced all my tools with FretGuru and my accuracy and overall work has greatly improved,Thanks bud, I do appreciate the hard work you put into your tooling, making my life easier..Vince Daddio

I bought a Dagger 2.0 and fret end file, both are a pleasure to use and very well made, especially considering the modest price. I appreciated the prompt and personal service from Bernie.

Just got my Fret Guru and after doing some quick checks on a couple of my guitars, I like it! I've been using a precision machinists scale, (ruler) and my old eyes have problems seeing those tiny lines. With this, I can clearly see what my action is. The detail and pride they put into their products really shows. My first career was in precision machining, (25 years) and I've made parts for the military and aerospace industries. I can recognize a quality product when I see one and this little tool has quality written all over it!

The Epiphone Es-335 IG I purchased needed to have the frets leveled. Luthiers where I live were all overloaded with work and couldn’t get to it for months. So I decided to do it myself. After watching countless UTube videos I purchased a 16” leveling beam and a Dagger 2.0 fret file from Fretguru. Just finished the job and it turned out perfect! Low action and no buzzes all the way up the neck.

Dagger 2.0 Fret Crowning FileI know what your thinking is this a great file or should I spend more for that stewmac thing….Do yourself a huge favour and choose this one. This file has changed how I work and has taken the repeatability and accuracy and speed way up. You can stop using marker to see where your cutting and when to stop. It’s always going to be a perfect fine line when the drag eases up. Get a file card and clean the file every fret. This file used evenly and held properly will not let you mess this up.. You don’t need a metalFretboard protector or tape and you can go right from this to polishing. It’s that easy and simple and works that well. I tried many tools including fancy emery cloth contraptions that didn’t work properly from day one and required lots of polishing steps to get things mirrored. Just buy this tool. That’s my advice. You can have a levelling and a recrown done in an hour . With some practice.I am actually thinking of buying a second one to make sure I have one for the rest of my days. Nothing else worked like this in one step and I can do almost by feel alone now.

I am an engineer and a veteran. Why is that important? Because I understand what it takes to make something and the commitment behind it to do it well. I appreciated the signed letter from Bernie Tusko sharing what his family accomplished to create these outstanding tools. The leveling beam is beautifullycrafted and is dead flat and straight. The beam’s functionality and feel is extraordinary. The fret end file is magnificent, it is so easy to control that it just glides over the fret ends. The file out performs any other file out there. Period. I spent hours on reviews and YouTube videos of Leveling tools and files, I would have paid more for these tools.Thank you Bernie Tusko.
