I have lived all over the U.S. and therefore have had the experience of having to change dentists due to relocation at least 6 times. Each time I relocated I did extensive online research before making a final decision because of some really terrible experiences with inexperienced dentists.
It was no different when I moved to NC. After extensive google reviews I chose a practice near my home and gave it a try. It was ok until I lost faith in the dentist that kept changing the estimate of the work I needed to have done. Then he wasn’t there anymore. Back to the drawing board. That’s when I came across consistently good reviews regarding Dr. Bohn.
I have to say after being a patient for at least the past two years, I continue to be impressed with the established culture of this practice. Staff are friendly, helpful, and responsive to patient needs. All of the staff. There is a concerted effort to build a personal relationship with patients that stems from consistently caring about your preferences and always checking in with you to see if you are comfortable. Today, I had to have a filling done. Ugh. After numbing the area, (painless BTW) Dr. Bohn gave a short summary of the steps in the process. After he started he kept me informed about where we were in the steps of filling the tooth and what exactly he was doing . He took pictures along the way. By the end I was able to view 4 pictures, start to finish, of his work. He explained each picture referring back to what he had been telling me as I lay in the chair this whole time. It helped me see what all that drilling was about and to appreciate his skill as the tooth was in a place in my mouth I would not be able to see on my own.
Oh, and the staff that assist? From cleanings to chair side attending, these professionals are confident, warm and reassuring. I have been offered, blankets, water, a change in TV channel perhaps or do you want to keep it on HGTV? What? And the most thorough cleaning I have ever had. They remember what’s going on with me from one visit to the next. Other dental practices could learn from them. I waited awhile before writing a review to get a solid and accurate impression. In the end, I pressured my husband to leave his current dentist recently due to his complaints of always being told he needed fillings. Every visit. I let him know Dr. Bohn takes a conservative approach and he gave him a try and is so happy he switched. He was told he did not need any work other than cleaning at that time. He also told me his cleaning was more thorough than what he had been getting before.
I have finally found the best dental practice ever. I can honestly say I no longer stress or feel fearful about going to the dentist.
