My mom and I have used Micato for 2 trips, the Tanzania Spectacular in 2022 and the Palaces of India earlier this year, 2024. Both trips have exceeded any expectations we had going into it. Micato is amazing at planning and cultivating a beautiful experience with knowledgeable guides and gorgeous accommodations. We love working with Marion Miller in helping plan the next venture to South Africa to see Cape Town and hopefully jet up to Victoria Falls, along with everything else the continent and Micato has to offer.

Our entire family judged our Micato safari to be the trip of a lifetime.
Thumbs up to Micato for their superb organization. We never felt we were on our own. Someone from Micato was always available and looking after us. Accommodations, food. drink, and game tours were superb. The multitudes of wild life in Kenya and Tanzania were amazing and our guide, Sam Brown was extremely knowledgeable. We got the most out of our African experience because we could focus on viewing and photographing without any worries about logistics.
We need to give special recognition to Brown (as he liked to be called) as he was personable, caring, and efficient, We never had to worry about any aspect of our trip because Brown took care of everything. It’s difficult to characterize how well we were looked after.

Micato Safaris get a five-star review from us! We recently traveled on a safari with them to Tanzania and Kenya. Our trip started off eventful with the realization, at the outbound airport, that we had left our required insulin at home. We reached out to Micato in a panic! Micato employees Meg and Virginia came to the rescue! They went to work while we were in the air and met us at the airport in Kenya with the required medicines. Their quick actions saved us from canceling our trip! The excellent customer service and quality of the company continued to be realized throughout the trip. The connections from one camp to the next were worry free and efficient. I do not believe we could have managed the logistics of this type of adventure without the professional experience of Micato. I particularly enjoyed the quality of the resorts and the meals. The safari picnics, champagne at the air strip, indigenous gifts at each lodge and quality of the staff were outstanding! Our safari guide, Patrick, was knowledgeable, patient, professional and a true ambassador for Kenya. His kindness and life story will remain as one of my best memories of Africa. Thank you Micato for making a bucket list vacation so very memorable!

Our family of four had an incredible and memorable Tanzania Spectacular trip with Micato. While you are not guaranteed to see the Big Five on any safaris, we saw all of them, plus so much more. We saw lions running, mating, resting, stalking and devouring their kills (a topi and a zebra on two separate occasions). We saw herds of elephants with their babies. A leopard crossed in front of our vehicle one early morning. Scores of zebras and wildebeests populate each park that we went to (Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti). We had rare sightings of a serval, a waterbuck and cheetahs. There were many giraffes, birds, flamingos, and so much more!
The accommodations were fantastic and comfortable. We loved the variety of our accommodations - coffee lodge, treetop, tent and hotel. The staff at each location were friendly and accommodating. We were assigned a personal assistant upon checking in and they learned our preferences and took great care of us during our stay.
We absolutely enjoyed the hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti. Upon landing, we were taken to a beautiful breakfast spread complete with champagne, pancakes, omelettes made to order, doughnuts and so many other offerings! It was a wonderful experience and is highly recommended when you're in the Serengeti!
Micato gave us so many surprises - from various meals in the bush to frequent gifts at turn-down service.
All these amazing experiences were made possible by our fantastic Safari Director, Rodgers. He coordinated with various personnel on the ground and hotel staff to ensure that every single day of our journey was another memorable day. The surprises, whether by design or happenstance in the bush, could only happen because Rodgers and the safari drivers have tremendous experience and broad knowledge of all the parks, and they aim to please and ensure that your time in Tanzania is worthwhile, fun, and unforgettable.
We also love the Micato all-inclusive pricing which also provided us with the Micato duffle bags, hats, water bottles, mugs and other items. We only took out our wallet when shopping for souvenirs while in Tanzania.
If you are considering a safari in Africa, go with Micato for a trip of a lifetime, free of worries and concerns. They will take great care of you.

Our safari with Micato to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary was amazing! It was definitely the trip of a lifetime and worth every penny. The staff, the accommodations, and the food were all 5 stars. The game drives were incredible. Every detail was taken care of. It really was the most perfect trip we’ve ever taken and we can’t wait to travel with them again. 1000% highly recommend.

We just returned from the 15-Day Micato Grand Safari to Kenya and Tanzania. It was an absolutely fabulous experience. From the moment we arrived in Nairobi, we were treated to amazing daily wildlife experiences, fabulous accommodations, excellent meals, and the friendliest local peoples. We began our safari with a visit to the Pinto-family-sponsored school for some of Nairobi's poorest children and the nearby Huru facility where young women are taught sewing skills and the factory makes products essential to young African girls. The Pinto family founded Micato and a portion of the safari fee is used to support these institutions. A heartwarming visit. We also visited a giraffe preserve and had our first up-close encounter with these majestic animals. Then, we were off! A short bush flight to Amboseli where we saw 3 of the Big 5 on our first wildlife drive. The wildlife there was spectacular, as it was everywhere. Another short flight took us to Lewa in northwest Kenya where the original rhino preserves in Kenya were established in the 1930s. Rhinos and lions abound as do Zebra, antelope of several varieties, elephants, and so forth. Almost too much to take in. As it turned out, each safari location was more spectacular than the last. Next came Maasai Mara where we visited a Maasai village, learned about the Maasai history and culture, and were treated to a Maasai warrior dance. We stayed at the Bateleur Camp, which was just excellent. In addition to a personal butler, our tented suite boasted a large bathtub, an indoor shower, and a large outdoor shower - along with a large front deck on which we had cocktails while watching the nearby wildlife. Hard to beat. But the best was yet to come. From Maasai Mara we flew to Tanzania and the Serengeti where we checked into the Four Seasons Serengeti! Very nice, considering it's in the middle of nowhere. The next morning we were treated to a hot air balloon ride over the vast expanse of Serengeti plains to observe some of the great migration. Lastly, we flew to the Ngorongoro Crater for a couple of days. The Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is perched along the crater rim and overlooks the crater floor some 2 thousand feet below. What a fabulous property, reminiscent of a medieval castle. Touring the crater floor was the perfect way to end our safari as the range of wildlife was awe inspiring. Our safari director was George "Oh, my" Kamonde. Can't sing his praises too high. He and all the Micato staff throughout the safari were absolutely first class. Our game drivers were all knowledgeable and highly skilled at negotiating the dirt roads that criss-cross the landscapes. It's easy to see why Micato has been voted THE BEST in the business 10 times. We are recommending Micato to our friends and are planning another Micato safari in the future.

Exceeded expectations (that were high before we traveled with Micato to Tanzania) in every possible way, and then some.
Met our Safari Director at JRO airport and he was with us until bidding us farewell back at the airport 9 evenings later. His knowledge, his demeanor, his courtesies were impeccable.
Lodgings were perfect; staff, to a person, incredibly customer-friendly and focused, meeting our needs every step of the way.
We loved that Ms. Philbrick in the NY office suggested the option of making our Safari "private" for our 3 generation family group; this made our experiences ever so amazing and memorable, with our Safari Director, Jackson and our 2 vehicle driver-guides there for us for every game drive and overland drives.
It was indeed a trip of a lifetime, thanks to how Micato has designed the Tanzania Spectacular itinerary.

A trip of a lifetime and some special family moments to cherish forever! The Micato team is second to none and a shout out to all the amazing and talented staff at our camps who catered to our every ask! Highlights are too numerous to mention but spotting the rare Sitatunga and Pels Fishing Owl, Sundowner in Okavango channel, hyenas, lions and the elephants at Gamoti, and sunset on our final day at Machaba Camp watching a young leopard will be remembered.

Our high expectations were exceeded at every destination. Our safari director Nuru is arguably the nicest person that we’ve ever met . At every lodge, as the entire staff came out to meet our group, Nuru shook every last person’s hand and thanked them sincerely for having us as their guests. They very much respected Nuru, and each lodge experience can only be described as fantastic !!! Transfers at airports were smoother than that of other travelers thanks to Micato …. Simply put , Micato has perfected the African Safari experience . One of many examples was the exquisite field lunch that we experienced in the Ngorongora Crater after a mesmerizing safari . As a tribute to how respected and appreciated Micato is to the Ngorogoro Lodge , the General Manager made a point of driving over an hour from the Lodge to visit our picnic lunch catered by his team.
The Micato experience is worth it because of the value of everything being included without any hidden charges .
The Micato support team from Bonnie, extending to our concierge Josephine and Grace, was attentive, professional, and each in their small way contributed to our experiencing a wonderful trip … Our high regard for Micato and its team was uniformly shared by everyone in our group of thirteen, almost all of which were experienced luxury travelers …
We love Micato and look forward to our next Micato experience …
PS … For older travelers like ourselves , we highly recommend coming three days early and staying at the Legendary Lodge . The experience at that small hotel was extremely relaxing , and two days of recovery with spa services allowed us to recover from jet lag and be prepared for the rigors associated with the travel and game drives of the trip. A visit that was as coordinated to the Arusha National Park was very enjoyable, and gave us the opportunity to see more giraffe than at any other park, as well as see monkeys and other animals unique to that park …
I would highly recommend that pre-safari experience while staying at the Legendary Lodge.

I cannot say enough about Micato - from their travel agents and correspondence and amazing guides - especially our guide Julius - and drivers and pilots and support staff and lodgings and food. The entire journey in Kenya and Tanzania (the Hemingway wing) - from the MIcato greeting at Nairobi for the beginning of our experience and returning to the airport and all of the amazing wildlife encounters and hospitality and cultural exchanges in between - was wonderful and unique and I highly encourage all to seek out Micato. I look forward to another journey with them - hopefully to India in the future.

We recently returned from a trip of a lifetime led by the Micato Safari group. 15 family members (2 families with adult children) experienced the thrills and adventures of 2 weeks on Safari in South Africa, Victoria Falls and Botswana.
I can not rave more about how great Micato was. From the moment we stepped off the plane in Johannesburg and were met by our superb guides Trevor and Michael to the time we departed each of us were overwhelmed by the kindness, professionalism, attention to detail and warmth afforded us. I'm not sure if Trevor and Michael are prepared to take on 15 new family members but the rest of us were ready to take on 2 more for sure. No stone was left unturned- from retirement celebrations (mine) to anniversary parties (daughter and son-in-law), to birthday parties (my sister) it was like being home in the bush! There was even a celebration at the Falls on the 4th of July complete with red, white and blue cupcakes and sparklers!! Micato is simply the best! A trip none of us will ever forget- Thanks Micato!!!

Our driver, Enzi, also did an outstanding job navigating his way through the difficult conditions in the bush. These two staff members were exceptional, and represent Micato well.
