It has been the trip of a lifetime!
We had never used a company to plan our travels. I am a travel agent Consequently, my husband and I always plan our travels. As we were checking off the list of the seven wonders of the world the last one remaining was the Taj Mahal, so we wanted eagerly to visit India.
We were apprehensive, because we heard stories of how chaotic India is Because of this reason, we decided to hire Micato as it was recommended to us by an Indian friend. We researched and saw it’s one of top travel companies for India and African safaris.
But we I never imagine the journey began when we booked our trip..
Micato Starts your journey by sending you movies, books and little trinkets building up to the day of your trip.. then you get on your plane, arrive to India, and at your hotel You’ll be greeted by The most amazing hospitality I have ever experienced . You will always be surprised with little details given to you by your Micato staff or the hotel staff, which Micato has carefully chosen for you. Everything is personalized and catered to your wants and needs.
Let’s talk about our driver & guide. Your driver and your guide stay with you throughout your journey. The drivers name, Lucky and boy were we lucky to have him because India’s Traffic is a serious matter ! He made sure we made it to places in one piece and on time.
We had the pleasure of being assigned, our tour guide named Hem Singh. What a lovely gentleman. The best dressed tour guide I’ve ever seen! Every day he was dressed to perfection, hat, jacket, handkerchief, and gorgeous shoes !! So respectful, So knowledgeable about India’s history. Very personable, Very articulate and speaks English to perfection ! He took care of us like we were his children. From the moment we met him he told us this is your vacation. This is your trip. We are here to make your trip unforgettable . Whatever we did not want to do from the itinerary, we did not do and whatever we wanted to add to the itinerary he found a way to do it.
We are looking forward to future trips to India, and Africa with Micato!

I don’t know how people do this kind of trip with its multiple bush planes and locations without such seasoned guides. Thanks for a dream trip!

Dear Marion,
James Mitchener once wrote, “One of the treasures of travel, one of the reasons we journey to distant places, is to intensify our appreciation of the familiar things we’ve known since childhood.” It’s now almost a week since our return from India, almost enough time to be immersed again in the fabric of our lives, the comforting and familiar aspects of home. (But still not adjusted to the current time zone.)
But somewhere off in the corner of our minds, the rhythms of India return – exotic, humid, sultry, intricate, endlessly varied.
Ray and I are glad we were able to travel with Micato, and experience “The Sole of India” in Micato’s unique, upscale way. The hotels were absolutely fabulous, the food wonderful, the daily tours excellent, the meet and greet services friendly and on time. And Puneet – between his wit and wisdom, he kept us laughing and learning throughout the entire two weeks. He’s a great representative of Micato – extremely professional, patient, knowledgeable, and organized.
I always try to embed two or three great moments of our travels in my memory – it helps to bring back the whole trip. The Taj Mahal is a monument I won’t soon forget having seen both at sundown and sunrise. Unbelievable! And the traffic! And the noise of the streets! And two sightings of the Bengal Tigers! But the biggest highlight for me was Varanasi – something I’ve wanted to see since I was 9 or 10 years old and first studied it in school. It was everything I had imagined and more. What an experience!
And then there was the surprise birthday cake and card signed by all of our fellow travelers – Puneet really went out of his way to make Ray’s birthday a special event (for us at least…)
The trip hit all the highlights, was fast paced, and absolutely wonderful from start to finish!

My safari with Micato was truly a trip of a lifetime. It FAR exceeded expectations. The staff was incredible. The locations visited (Cape town, Victoria Falls, the Masai Mara, the Serengeti and the Ngongoro Crater) were each fabulous in their own right and the perfect mixture for a first time trip to Africa. Each location was exceptional and unique. I will go back to Africa--and ALWAYS with Micato. Truly I can't imagine traveling in any location in which they provide services and not traveling with them. Exceptional in every way! I give them my highest recommendation!!

Our 3rd venture to Africa (Tanzania), was the most enjoyable yet. My wife and I took our son there for a 50th birthday present. He was in awe of the animals; mesmerized by the African landscape; enchanted by the African people. We shared his feelings.
Once again Micato kept their promise of taking care of all the details, including finding my luggage, which the airline failed to forward to Kilimanjaro.
Micato delivers peace of mind........which is priceless!

After much research into safari tour providers, my husband and I decided to go with Micato. It was a once-in-a-lifetime trip that was thoughtfully produced by Micato. They thought of every detail and had it planned out to be the best trip ever. Our safari director, Henry was knowledgeable, friendly, had quite the sense of humor. When we left, we felt that we had made a long-time friend! All of our drivers were excellent and well-trained to get through the Kenyan mud! As a hospitality professional myself, it was obvious to me that Micato had been doing this and learning throughout the process on how to make vacationers dreams come true!

Fantastic trip to South Africa with Micato Safaris. They took care of every detail and had several unexpected surprises for us along the way. From getting to privately meet and learn form Christo Brand in Cape Town to beautiful sundowners while on a wonderful Safari to a fantastic helicopter tour of Victoria Falls. Our guide Graham was truly knowledgeable on all facets of our surroundings and with us throughout. He even took the time to take pictures and provide those to us, some of which now hang in our home. While this was our first trip with Micato, it will not be our last.

Enough of reading the wonderful books on Africa, enough of watching the beautiful movies of Africa. These would never reach the experience of actually being there on a hand-crafted, artisanal Kenyan private safari tour with Micato. From our first phone call with Diana in NYC, to our airport welcome by our fantastic safari director Julius, to Mrs. Pinto's greeting at our deluxe Nairobi hotel, to our drivers Charles, Peter, Benson and John, and to a score or more of safari camp staffers, we were always welcomed, informed, and comforted. And.....not least importantly, the wildlife is exquisitely cooperative. This will be a very difficult "vacation" to surpass but we think we'll call Micato again next year and give it a try!

We are not celebrities or famous in any regard and though Micato has many folks traveling that fit this category, we were treated like such on our recent Micato Grand Safari (Kenya and Tanzania). Every single aspect of this trip was meant to Surprise and Wow and it far exceeded our expectations. There is a reason they are the Worlds Best Safari Outfitters! Our guide, Sammy, our Safari pre specialist, Leigh, the drivers and accommodations all were excellent. We left wanting more of Africa and as our guide exclaimed.... 'you must leave, in order to return'.
Two favorite memories come to mind... In Amboseli at the foot of 19,000 ft Kilimanjaro where we saw 965 of the 1600 elephants( my husband counted ), a Large 6 ton male 'Tusker' blocking our path ahead for 30 min as we snapped photo after photo of him right at our vehicle, his thick large tusks weighing 300 pounds each gently swaying as he pulled up trunkful after trunkfuls of delicious sweetened grass by the road. Spectacular!
And In the Ngorogoro Crater ( surely the birthplace of man akin to the Garden of Eden)on our last drive, watching a male lion and mate lie down in the shade of our vehicle after he sidled up to give our vehicle his stroke and scent, tail swishing ... Outstanding!

This was our second trip with Micato Safaris and once again they did not disappoint! Micato Safaris knows how to put together a unique boutique experience, unlike a lot of other travel companies. From booking, itineraries, hotel accommodations, extremely knowledgable guides, transportation, they leave no stone unturned. Micato Safaris is truly an exceptional travel company. Like many others who have traveled with Micato, I can't imagine going on Safari with anyone but Micato. From the moment you step off the airplane, your worries disappear. Micato takes care of literally everything. Our favorite place, all arranged by Micato, was the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Ithumba elephant reintegration site. Absolutely the most amazing experience - but again, without Micato, who knows how it would have been. Won't even think of going to Africa without Micato.

Cannot imagine there is a tour company better than Micato. Accommodations and food were excellent. Most important was our guide. Eugene was the best. Recommend the extra couple days in Cape Town.
