Micato exceeded every expectation my husband and I had providing the best vacation we have ever experienced. Our safari to East Africa was made a 5 star experience due to the staff and accommodations but mostly the credit goes to our guide, Raphael Emmanuel Moleli. He was with us every step of the way. He IS a problem solver whose knowledge of plants, birds, animals- and yes, people is impressive. There wasn't a question our group asked (There were only 6 of us!) that he couldn't answer. This is not a once in a life time experience- we plan to return with Micato!

We have traveled extensively using bespoke companies but none can compare with the attentiveness, knowledge and luxury offered by Micato. We worked with Marion Miller and from my initial contact to our return home, Marion was always available to answer questions and was concerned with every and any detail that could enhance our trip. As we were celebrating my birthday, she organized a special dinner under the stars in Jaipur with beautiful decor and musicians. It was absolutely breathtaking. Our tour guide, Hem Singh, was a wealth of knowledge, professional and a delight to spend time with. He made long drives most enjoyable. The hotels and rooms offered lived up to every expectation. Micato far exceeded our expectations in every area; the sights and animals we saw, the exceptional lodging and food, and best of all - our guides. The guides were personable, very knowledgeable about the animals, flora and history of the areas. We would like to especially say thanks to Eric Guda who was with us for Kenya and Tanzania. We would definitely request him if we ever do a repeat. It’s so much fun to get to know something about a country from someone who knows and loves it. An experience that is hard to even explain, all due to the in-country work of Micato. Our guide (beyond exceptional), drivers, camp staff.....Wonderful! I had a small medical need and it was instantly handled. Micato is so easy to recommend.

Micato, led by our guide, Rodgers, exceeded our expectations in every way and then some. Yes, we saw all the animals we had hoped for, but the experience transcended this wish in unexpected ways. We came away with a much deeper appreciation of not only Africa and the thousands of animals we viewed up close, but also the mystifying and wondrous ways in which nature works. But, in the end, it was the people who made the difference and elevated our experience -- Rodgers, our two drivers (Steve and Job), and the teams at each of the beautiful lodges where we stayed. Surprise after surprise made this the trip of the lifetime (as we had hoped), connecting us to all we experienced in a much deeper sense. We'll always be grateful to Rodgers and everyone at Micato.

We have traveled with two high end companies to Africa; Micato was the superior one! Our accommodations were all five star, as was the food. Our agent took into account special requests we had, which of course made the trip more personal and enjoyable. We were able to meet with the owners of the company and we found that there attention to detail made all the difference. If you are planning a trip to Africa, this is definitely the way to go. You will see amazing sights, amazing wildlife, and you will meet amazing people. The trip of a lifetime.

I had the trip of a lifetime in May, when I traveled with Micato to South Africa and Zimbabwe. Every aspect of the trip was amazing - the tour leaders, the accommodations, the animal drives and the travel arrangements. What will always stay in my heart is the country, its culture, the intimacy with the animals and the incredible people of Africa. I hope to return to Africa in the future and it will definitely be with Micato.

Micato Safaris is more than just another African Safari Company. This company is as good as it gets. We just returned from one of their adventures in Tanzania and I would really like to rate the entire exprience with more than 5-Stars! Everything from the booking (Thank you Ariel) to the experience in Tanzania was nothing short of amazing (Thank you Peter). This was not my wife's and my first safari, but the other luxury safari paled in comparison to this one. Our adventure was a family affair. My wife and I took our three sons, their wives, and our seven grandkids (aged 9 to 17) on the trip. Ariel made sure that our accommodations were perfect for the different size families. The treats and souvenirs that were nicely gifted to us and our kids at each stop was just part of the little touches that made our trip special. The guides, drivers, camps, were amazing on several different levels. Of course, seeing the animals was the main event, but the planning and timing of the trip was so very special. The surprise sundowners, the breakfast on the Serengeti, the local friends that we met, the beautiful places we stayed, the wonderful food, and I could go on for hours about the special way in which we were treated. Our main guide, Peter, was special in the way that he communicated with the youngest and teenagers, as well as their parents and my wife and me. His knowledge was vast, and all of our grandkids had a crush on him and were sad when we departed. If we ever do another safari, Micato would be the only company that I would hire.

Best ever Safari in Kenya and Tanzania!Our family still talks about our trip of a lifetime with Macato. Over 1.5 and 2 million animals up close and personal over the 14 days. We are hoping to go on our fourth safari next year with our five star guide Kennedy.

“I was in India with MICATO in June/July. India is magical, the great history, temples , palaces and the sightseeing around the country was spectacular. The food was wonderful and the Masala tea with the wonderful taste and aromas from India spices was simply delicious. The trip was much more special because of the personal attention from the MICATO team. Marion was my travel advisor from the NY office; she did a fantastic job coordinating a wonderful trip for me since I was also attending a wedding in Ahmedabad. Everything was perfect from the moment I arrived to New Delhi. After the wedding, I met with Hem Singh, my tour director. Touring Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur and Agra with Hem was spectacular. His knowledge and attention to detail was amazing. I feel honored to have met Hem, it was a privilege to tour such a beautiful country with him as my tour director. I can’t wait to go back to India to experience a safari with Hem as my Tour Director once again. Thank you Hem, Marion and MICATO for this unforgettable experience!

I have taken 7 Micato Safaris and will take more in the future. Their attention to detail is unrivaled. When there they make you feel like you are visiting your African Family. The safari directors are amazing and so knowable that every game drive is spectacular. If there is something special you request, Micato makes it happen. I wanted to celebrate my birthday in Africa, and they went above and beyond to make my day wonderful. For every safari booked they send a child to school. Micato is the GOAT Of safari tours.

My wife and I just complete a safaris through Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe with a 3 day extension in Cape Town. We can't say enough about our experience, from planning and pre-trip materials and guidance provided by Micato, onsight support each step of the way as we navigated international borders and bush flights. Their selection of bush camps - location, quality of facilities, services and guides/trackers provided for an optimal game watching experience. And our visit to Cape Town was illuminating from an historical, cultural and geographic perspective. The only thing we needed to worry about was making the most of our time; every other detail was taken care of by Micato. This was our first Micato excursion, but it won't be our last.

This was our 4th Micato safari, and somehow they just keep getting better. Meg Buffkin put together the most amazing experience that I’ll remember my whole life. She is truly amazing at what she does. Our guide Dennis was also incredible, and taught us so much. He is such a kind person, and we all can’t wait to see him on our next Micato safari. Everyone involved in this safari went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful time. Thank you for another amazing time in Kenya, Micato!

What a fabulous trip to Africa! We really don’t know where to start with the accolades but this was a trip of a lifetime.
My husband and I went to Africa for our honeymoon many years ago and we wanted to take our 15 year old son Jack so he could experience the incredible beauty of Africa and see how other people love and live in the world. Goal Achieved! He was mesmerized with Africa and its people and as a teenager saw the world through a different lens than his day-to-day life he lives in Colorado. It was fun to watch a teenager soak in all the wonder and glory of this continent.
Everything went beautifully. The resorts were gorgeous and we so appreciated the warm staff and all our butlers, which was a new experience for us. Having someone being present 24/7 when needed was very comforting. Our compliments to our Maasai Tour Guide Kintai as he customized this trip on a personal level and bonded with our son on many levels. They really were best friends throughout our trip and we so appreciate his sincere care for our family. We met the Maasai people and experienced their rituals and lifestyle in a personal and beautiful way. We particularly enjoyed the Mara Nyiki resort in Kenya and Xanadu in Zanzibar as they were the ultimate in luxury and service.
The animals…..what can we say except AMAZING!

South Africa was wonderful. Meg picked four very diverse 5-star locations. We had the best guides in each place (IMHO). The close encounters with many animals were amazing to us. The very cool weather for the safaris was well worth our experiences.

We just returned yesterday from our trip and I don't even know where to begin!
To say this was a trip of a lifetime is an understatement! From the beginning to the end - from every detail - NOTHING was missed. Our main guide, in addition to being completely competent and knowledgeable about just about EVERYTHING was a total delight to be with. She managed any hitches brilliantly and knew when to respect our time alone although we also so enjoyed her company.
I think it's safe to say that our experience was perfect and unforgettable and we could not be more appreciative.

My mom and I got to spend a wonderful day with Micato Safaris visiting their nonprofit project, a library in the Redhill township. They are doing very inspirational work, and while I've traveled with lots of different safari companies (I'm a travel journalist) this was the first time I got to see a company's charitable side in person. It's definitely made me want to travel more with Micato! Our Micato Safaris tour guide for the day also took us to visit the penguins at Boulder Beach, and he knew how to skip the line (without making anyone angry, LOL) and had umbrellas for us (it was pouring rain) and made the experience as comfortable as possible! He also arranged for us to have lunch at a really Insta-worthy restaurant with the most amazing farm-to-table food. We had reservations so we didn't have to wait (despite the line), and the entire day was a seamless experience! If they took such good care of us on a one-day tour, I can't imagine how spoiled we'd be if we got to travel with Micato on a multi-day trip. Can't recommend them enough!
