I had an extraordinary trip (Hemingway with gorilla trek extension). Micato plans and executes the perfect (no-stress) luxury safari. The guides are friendly & supremely knowledgeable. Micato Miracles happen. I crashed my external hard drive backing up my photos from my gorilla trek (no photos were lost). In the morning, I contacted the Micato team about my dilemma. By that evening, a hand-delivered a replacement drive was there. I was surprised. I now know that I shouldn't have been surprised. I have learned that Micato means extraordinary service and (good) surprises. The effortless appearing execution of the trip only highlights the superior team working furiously behind the scenes to make it all appear seamless. The trip is expensive but the experience and memories are priceless. I wouldn't hesitate to do the exact same trip tomorrow, I would pick a different itinerary only for variety.

Five stars do not do justice for Micato. Seeing Africa is amazing in itself, but Micato’s level of personal service is unmatched. From the time we booked our safari to the moment we were met at the airport upon arrival until we were returning home, every single detail was considered and executed with seamless excellence. When I left something behind in a lodge, it was waiting for me at the next stop on our journey. Our safari director Peter was knowledgeable, personable and we enjoyed getting to know him. He really got our group to jell socially. We were fortunate to meet terrific people! Drivers and guides were exceptional, Laban was a favorite of ours, he spotted animals we would not have seen. Mercy managed us and our logistics from Nairobi, even a little surprise for us when we returned to Nairobi before heading home! The lodges and camps were luxurious and unique. The food was amazing. The bush… the drives, breakfast, dinner, and sundowners were breathtaking; my friends and family are getting tired of hearing me talk about them! Everyone associated with Micato took great pride in the fact that they are known for excellence and worked hard to ensure that every guest has a superior experience traveling with Micato.

Our family trip to Tanzania with Micato was spectacular. We expected this to be a once in a lifetime vacation, but Rodgers (our safari director) was so amazing that we want to go back and explore more of East Africa with him. Everything he planned with Micato was perfectly executed, he was well informed, extremely helpful, and very personable.
We were surprised and delighted the entire journey! We can’t recommend Rodgers and Micato enough!

We just returned from a three-week Micato trip exploring Delhi, Agra, and southern India. It exceeded our expectations at every point.
From my very first contact with Marion, Micato’s extraordinary India specialist, I felt as if my best friend were planning our adventure. She answered every question, allayed every concern, and gently guided us in refining our trip. When our flight to Delhi was delayed 25 hours, she immediately rearranged our schedule to include some of the sites that we had missed.
The high quality of the accommodations and food don’t need further praise, but the guiding, logistics, transportation, and attention to our interests and needs that Micato provided in an often challenging setting were close to flawless.
We started planning our next Micato adventure before we even left India.
Delight Willing
A friend and I recently completed a wonderful tour in Kenya with Micato. I am disabled so walking is a challenge but everyone was marvelous with me. A helping arm appeared at the right times. My walking poles were presented to me always with the right one ready for my right hand. I had some concerns about the balloon ride but was assured that the basket would be on its side and we could crawl in. And when it was over I suddenly felt about four men carefully sliding me out and setting me on my feet again. That too was a fabulous experience.
Timothy Leperes, our Safari Director, was filled with knowledge and always happy to share. He and the drivers were amazing in their ability to find hidden animals and birds.
I am fairly well- traveled but I feel this was a trip of my lifetime!

My husband and I had the most incredible honeymoon with Micato Safaris. We were blown away at the level of personalization, attention to detail, beyond-belief-luxury, and kindness of every single staff member. There were multiple moments where we talked about how we're not sure we'd ever be able to top that trip. We trusted Micato in planning the trip of a lifetime and they performed brilliantly. We'd trust them again in a heartbeat and hope to do so someday!

This was the greatest trip and adventure we have ever been on. Micato is simply the best! We never had to worry about a thing, as they think of everything and take care of everything! The Camps and Lodges were just unbelievable! They had surprises around every corner (even gourmet breakfasts and lunches set-up out in the wild) And the staff - there is no one better. Meg Buffkin put together the perfect itinerary and Kennedy Omwenga was the perfect Safari Director! I was already planning our next trip with Micato in my head even while we were still there!
I can't imagine doing this trip with any other Safari Outfitter!

We found Micato while searching for African safari ideas. But we decided to visit India first with them. The easiest way to explain the Micato experience is to say they deliver an amazing 5 star experience every step of the way. The hotels were some of the best I've ever stayed in. Incredible properties and service. Our guide Naveen Bhatt was a perfect host and his knowledge, experience and willingness to share about his life and his country made the journey so much more personal than just sight seeing in a foreign country. Micato added special experiences along the way - inside a Sikh Temple food kitchen, visit with farmers family outside of Jaipur, special access inside the City Palace away from the crowds, an elephant sanctuary walk with an elephant and an outside campfire and dining experience. It all added up to an amazing adventure that spanned first class amenities to actually learning about and meeting locals in the areas we visited. Naveen made sure we were able to see it through his eyes and learn about India.
I can't recommend Micato enough. We're already talking about our next Micato trip we wish to take.

This is our third trip with Micato and our second trip to India. We requested a tour of southern India with an emphasis on culture, a deeper dive into Jewish history in India, and Puneet Dan as our guide if he was available. Our suggestions were researched by the Micato team and incorporated into the itinerary
The response from Marion and Puneet was quick and thorough. It enhanced our anticipation.
The accommodations, food and service were superb. Each hotel or resort was unique and special from the Taj Mahal Palace to the tents at the Oberoi Vanyavilas to the Kumarakom Lake Resort. Once you start a trip planned by Micato, you fall into the Micato rhythm. No request is too small to accommodate
Puneet was the best part of the trip. His knowledge of and pride in the history of India and his willingness to continually learn with us was an added factor to our daily enjoyment. His rapport with the local guides and continuous assessment of our interests and needs demonstrated the diamond standard of all guides. He balanced Marty’s focus on the itinerary and my desire for some shopping. He answered our numerous questions about India’s response to the pandemic, current events, and its economic future – always with his constant sense of humor and curiosity about the same in the US. He became our friend.

Micato Safaris is incredible; you will be thrilled if you travel with them! They take care of every detail that you wouldn't even know to think about. Everyone we met was so nice, fun, professional--and they know who to talk to and how to solve any issue. Many people probably try to make arrangements on their own to save money, but in the end, (because they make mistakes or don't get included discounts, etc.) they likely spend nearly as much...and undoubtedly have an inferior experience. We get it...this was not a typical expense for us...our travel budget is normally a fraction of this trip, but we would do it again in a heartbeat. We watched other groups fumbling in confusion at airports while we relaxed. Our safari director handled everything, talked to the right people (he seemed to know every official, baggage handler, you name it!), and we were all set. We watched other groups go out on game drives with one guide while we always had our safari director and our dedicated local guide (always seemed to be the best guide, too!) putting their heads together and figuring out the best place to go at any given moment. That was a huge advantage. We also felt that the Micato relationship got special treatment everywhere...at every hotel and camp we had what we thought were the best designated waitstaff, etc. and we were treated like family (and royalty, all at the same time)! We were traveling as a couple with our two adult daughters, who have serious, complicated food allergies. It's even difficult for them to eat at home, but with the help of Micato communication ahead of time, our safari director's assistance, and the extraordinary chefs and kitchen staff at the properties we visited, they survived! Not only did they live through the trip, but they were in heaven with incredible food....which is an amazing accomplishment when you have to remove approximately 10 major ingredients and strictly avoid cross-contamination. And no one treated them like it was a burden. (Of course, it may have helped that we all said 'thank you' about a million times!) We were also very impressed with the philanthropic work they're involved with, and feel good about supporting it...they aren't just 'paying lip service' for PR...it's really meaningful. From the planning stage until they put us on the plane to go home, Micato made our trip so easy and we absolutely loved it. The only regret you will have is that you have to leave!

I’d give Micato TEN stars if I could!
We took our teenagers out of school for 2 weeks in November and provided them with the best education ever! Our two-week safari in Kenya with Micato was better than we could ever have imagined. Whether we were exploring Nairobi, seeing baby animals in Amboseli, enjoying a helicopter flight over the Laikipia Plateau or a hot air balloon ride and sundowners in the Maasai Mara we were amazed at every turn. Our kids were warmly welcomed everywhere we went and claim that this was our best family vacation EVER. Our Safari Director, “Uncle” Johnson quickly became part of the family and kept us all on the edge of our seats, anticipating each new experience. We were so grateful to have him take care of all of the little details on the trip, leaving us to relax and simply enjoy our time together and revel in all that this gorgeous country and her people had to offer. When Johnson asked the kids at the end of our safari what their thoughts were, they said they can’t wait til we can go back! “I knew we would see animals,” the oldest quipped “but I never thought we’d see so many!” Thank you, Micato for memories that will last a lifetime.

Micato and its staff, especially Diana, are just amazing! Diana and I worked together in putting together a once in a life time trip for my clients and their family. Diana took the time to get to know this family even though she never spoke to them directly by asking all the right questions and listening to my feedback. She also was available outside working hours when a couple of things needed to get done. I deeply appreciate this. The trip surpassed my clients' expectations and was flawless. Thanks to Diana's listening skills, the family was matched up with Alyson as their guide in South Africa. According to my clients, Alyson is incredibly knowledgeable, perceptive in how to handle different situations, and overall a very lovely person.
We also worked together in finding the right accommodations for the clients. These clients stayed at The Silo and Tengile. Both properties are stunning and the service level high. These properties were the perfect match for this family.
Thank you to Diana, Alyson, and Micato's staff for a trip that my clients will remember forever. You all are the BEST.

Well, Micado has once again delivered a 5-star PLUS experience!! OMG!!! Where do I begin? First let me say India was the most fascinating country we have ever visited. We all were quite literally blown away and mesmerized by everything see saw, smelled, ate, and learned about. Every experience was new to us, the accommodations were beyond expectation, and we felt like royalty the whole time we were there. I’ve seen movies and pictures about India, but they do not convey the real feelings you experience when there in person. It’s truly a 5 senses experience.
Now onto Hemender. WE LOVED HIM SO MUCH the trip would not have been the same without him. I couldn’t imagine a more qualified guide to shepherd us though the trip. Not only was he a continuous source of knowledge about history, culture, and religion, he has such a fabulous personality. We laughed, carried on, and he became our brother. We all felt as though we had known him our entire lives. He’s so comfortable to be around, kind, sweet, and adorable in every way. When we come to India again (and we will come) we will insist on Hermender being our guide. We will not accept anyone else!!! He is a real gem. We cannot give any higher marks then simply PERFECT. The local guides were very nice, however, to be honest, Hermender could have easily handled everything. Thank you for providing us with an unparalleled experience in the wonderfully mysterious India!

Our Passage thru Botswana/Zimbabwe with Cape Town add on trip with Micato was fantastic. Iggy, our Safari Tour Director, was with us every step of the way and was a true pleasure to vacation with.
