We have travelled extensively around the world and this was not our first trip to Africa. However, the thing that left us most impressed in this unusually difficult time of global pandemic was the care, concern and attention to detail provided by Ian and each of the Micato staff that we encountered at each stop along the way. Your team couldn’t have been more attentive and accommodating and it reflects the unique customer centered mindset that you have instilled throughout your company.

November 2021 will be my 6th trip with Micato Safaris in beautiful Kenya. They are very professional and knowledgeable about many different disciplines such as biology, geology, and cultural aspects of their regional area. In some cases they even know the linage of the individual animals of the area.
The staff is very accommodating of your every wish for your trip. You will never know if any difficulties arise as the Micato teem has already solved the issue without a hitch on your awe inspiring safari. They should be your first choice to travel with! They will always be my only choice for safari!!!

The safari was fantastic. Our guide Henry was everything we could want; we saw the animals up close with all their survival struggles. But beyond that the overall Micato service was incredible. Henry obviously received special treatment for us because Micato was so important to so many providers, park rangers, etc. Whenever a difficulty arose (eg our flight out of Masai Mara was cancelled, messing up our covid shot timetable and Micato was able to have a doctor meet us at the airport on our timetable), the overall Micato organization was able to smooth it out.

Our family of 3 (2 adults and our 13 year old son) recently (July / August) returned from a 2-week private custom safari to Kenya with Micato. Like you, we had read all the wonderful Micato reviews. Therefore, we went into the vacation with very high expectations.
Micato met our very high expectations!
The process began with many emails and phone calls with Megan, a Micato representative based in NY, to construct the perfect itinerary for our family. Two months prior to our departure, Emirates changed the date of our flight into Kenya. Megan jumped into action altering our lodging accommodations to meet the additional dates we added to our safari. Upon arrival in Kenya we met our private safari director, Peter. In reading the Micato reviews, it seems like each traveler receives the best safari director - I have to say that we had the BEST guide! Thank you Peter!! Our diver guides at each camp were very skilled drivers and animal behavior experts. At the last minute, our final camp in the Mara closed due to a Covid case. Peter and the Micato staff worked quickly to find us alternate accommodation within the Mara. A feat that had we not booked with Micato might have been near impossible.
On the drive back to camp after our final game drive, where we experienced the great migration, I noticed my son had tears streaming down his face. At first I thought he was injured, but discovered that he was very sad to leave Kenya. This is the sign of a wonderful family vacation! Micato created special family memories that we will cherish for many years to come. I will not spoil the Micato magic for future travelers, but be prepared to be awed! Micato lives up to their reputation.
I understand that choosing to travel now is a difficult decision for many, especially families with children. We felt more safe traveling in Kenya than we do traveling in the U.S. at the moment. All our meals were al fresco with tables spaced apart, our personal waiters as well as the Micato staff are vaccinated, game vehicles are open air and in our case, private. While in the bush, we chose properties with 12 or less tents / cottages all of which are spaced apart in nature. The extra steps necessary to travel now were completely worth it for the amazing family memories that were made - Thank you Micato!!

I just had the most amazing vacation with Micato’s Hemingway Wing Safari. Everything was taken care of from laundry to covid tests to transportation to the most amazing lodges and food. I have never felt so welcomed by such gracious and sincere people. If I could go back tomorrow, I absolutely would. Patrick was our amazing guide in Kenya and Tanzania and Omar was my guide in Rwanda and they were the the best! Thank you Micato!!

This was the trip for which I waited 68 years! From the initial planning through the end of the trip, Micato surpassed my every expectation. When an issue arose, from a hotel deciding not to open through an airstrip not being available, the Micato staff jumped in, made arrangements that were an improvement over the already great details. The safari camps used informed and informative trackers, the meals were better than I find in my hometown, everyone was outgoing, friendly, and made the trip a truly memorable one. We are already planning our next trip, as we are anxious to have another great time.

Jon and I cannot say enough positive about Micato Safaris and the incredible journeys it has created for us. We just returned from 3 weeks in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Rwanda, experiencing the gorgeous vistas, gracious people, delicious food, lovely accommodations, attentive service and of course, incredible animals. Micato provided the complete and immersive experience with its knowledgable Safari Directors and Guides, and full, thoughtful, and smoothly executed itinerary which included all of the activities that we wanted (biking, hiking, fishing, trekking, air ballooning, helicopter excursions, and al fresco dining) and anticipated some we didn't even know was possible. Every accommodation was gorgeous, comfortable and had exquisite views, and the restaurants and chefs served inventive, fresh and delicious meals. Service was exceptional. Our Micato Safaris journey to Africa was filled with special moments and lifetime memories!
(P.S. We travelled with Micato to India two years ago and it too was an absolutely incredible trip!)

Attention to detail, kind, responsive, attentive, organized, informative. These are just a few adjectives to describe the treatment and care we received while on Safari in Kenya with Micato. There was never a moment when we felt we where lacking anything. We felt safe and in competent hands while visiting an unfamiliar country. From the moment we stepped off the plane in Nairobi, until we ended our trip, our guide, Peter, never left our side. The only care we were left to, was to enjoy the safari itself, which was amazing and magical. This was our second safari with Micato and we would not have it any other way. Asante Sana Micato!

My daughter and I have just returned from the heart of Kenya and Tanzania safari with Micato. It was truly the trip of a lifetime and exceeded all of our expectations on every level. The Micato staff left nothing to chance .Even in the world of Covid, our trip went smoothly thanks to the prior planning on behalf of the Micato staff. Our lodging‘s were amazing , food incredible, the game viewing and scenery beyond words. Micato leaves no stone unturned when it comes to their guests comfort and safety. We are already planning our return to Africa with Micato.

We went on Safari to Tanzania in July of 2021 as a family, myself, husband , and two adult children. Micato exceeded our expectations at every turn. Our drivers and guides were outstanding and went out of their way to make our trip spectacular. Their knowledge and teamwork enabled us to see many animals and our game drives could not have been better.The accommodations and food at every place we stayed was wonderful. Traveling during a pandemic can be tricky, but Micato had everything handled from pre departure to our return. We can not wait to plan our next safari with Micato.

I recently went to Tanzania in a Micato tour. There aren’t enough good things to say about how wonderful this experience was. I’m a 62 year old grandmother, who had recently had brain surgery. My doctors said I had recuperated fully and I could travel, so off I went. I did not worry about anything for a single instant. Everyone, the Tour Director, the driver/guides, the concierge, everybody was professional, kind, friendly, and warm. I cannot wait to go back and take my granddaughter with me! Thank you, Micato (Renny, Simba, and Grace!) for the trip of my life. ❤️

Hard to imagine how they could have made it a better safari or travel experience. We went to South Africa and Namibia. It felt like they had an army of people helping us the whole trip, led by George our guide, who was fantastic. Amazing accommodations and great game viewing. When we had a medical issue in Namibia, they were ready with doctors and a flight to the hospital. As a result, everything turned out fine. They really tend to everything.
I had been on a couple of great safaris before, but not like this. Wouldn’t do it again without them.

A spectacular visit to Africa was had by all: my wife, Janet, my son David, and I. The Micato staff and all hotel staffs were wonderful to my family. I have not mentioned everyone's name, but people are important. They made our lives better!
The Micato guides, Afrika in Rwanda, Renny in Tanzania, and Sammy in Kenya were the best (most extraordinary) guides that I have traveled with to date. Traveling with guides, we have sailed to Antarctica (worst guides ever at Nathab), toured China by trains and planes (a great guide at Top China), and sailed to the Galapagos where we also had an extraordinary guide for OARS on our catamaran. I have also traveled with guides for Mount McKinley and Tetons mountain climbing, South American mountain climbing, ice climbing in the Rockies, Yellowstone horseback camping, white water rafting, and rock climbing. I have had instructors for drag racing, scuba diving, and sky diving. We, Janet and I, have traveled without guides to more than 20 cities in Eastern and Western Europe, traveled to Russia and Singapore, snorkeled with turtles in Hawaii, baracuda in the Florida Keys and sharks in the Galapagos, and we traveled to more than 40 cities and most of the national parks in North America. This travel list is provided to accent the quality of the guides that we traveled with, where guides typically have warm personalities and strong experience to alleviate the complexities of self-planned travels. Micato guides are at the top of the mountain.
In short, Micato guides, drivers, and staff put together and carried out an excellent trip, which included wonderful hotels and comfortably friendly staff. In fact, we currently plan to travel to India with Micato in 2022 or 2023. Asking someone to work for you again is the highest form of a compliment.

I cannot imagine doing this trip without the help of Micato during a pandemic. We were challenged by cancelled flights, requirements for extra covid testing along the way, and paperwork galore. Micato handled it all behind the scenes so our trip remained a fabulous vacation. They even had a doctor come to a hotel to do a covid test at their own expense to allow our itinerary to proceed. We went on the African Splendor. The service, accommodations, food, and ANIMALS were nothing short of extraordinary. This was a splurge for us far beyond our usual, in celebration of a 30 year career in emergency medicine. We were pleased beyond words. Worth every penny. Micoato ROCKS.

Micato safaris takes travel to the highest level. From the time that you step off the plane after a long journey, you are guided through the process seamlessly. Their attention to detail in every aspect of the adventure….from superb accommodations, to knowledgeable driver/guides, to chef prepared meals and surprises at every turn. It was by far the most wonderful experience that we have had in our many years of travel.

Going to Africa for a camera safari was in my bucket list since I was very young; it was a realization to go back where my neanderthal ancestors came from thousands of years ago, and I trusted Micato’s Company to make it happen. I felt pampered the whole trip with the Micato’s profesional attentions that was present through out the entire journey, as soon as I arrived at Nairobi’s airport and up to the very end when they made sure I got safe on the plane back to my country. Micato’s family made my Safari the best one person could ever have. Mrs Pinto herself greeting us and making sure everything was at perfection, their Concierge, the Safari’s Director, the Guides, Drivers, the Hotels and Lodges personnel, everyone contributed to make this trip the most wonderful one. Thank you Micato for making my trip wonderful and unique.

Micato Safaris is simply the best choice for a safari in Africa. Every detail is thoughtfully and expertly executed. I stayed at three beautiful tented camps in Kenya and the service and accommodations were outstanding. The food was artfully prepared and there were so many vegan options too. The staff made you feel like you were part of the family. The guides are incredible and so knowledgable. The game drives were better than anything I have watched on National Geographic. I couldn’t believe my own eyes as we got so close to so many majestic lions and the other animals. This is experience was beyond bucket list.

I recently experienced Kenya with Micato Safaris and it was truly life changing. I say experience because at no time did I feel like I was a “tourist” marking off another bucket list item. With Micato you arrive as a dear guest and you leave part of the family. It is obvious Micato loves Kenya and its people because that passion is felt every step of the way. We stayed in 3 camps, Lewa Safari Camp Elewana, Sand River Masai Mara Elewana and Finch Hattons in Tsavo. All of the camps had beautiful accommodations and the food was outstanding, fresh and delish. The game drives, I can’t even begin to explain the thrill and excitement each rover ride brought. But the people! Even after a short stay you are sorry to leave your new friends. But that is nothing compared to saying goodbye to your safari guide. George was with us every step of the way making sure everything went smoothly, was a fount of info, full of surprises and very missed. This trip was a full immersion to all that is Kenya’s culture, wildlife, diverse landscapes and always the people. Africa is now in my heart and already calling me back.
