I experienced the trip of a lifetime to Kenya with Micato, they opened my eyes to how much you can discover a destination and its people with your eyes, ears, taste buds and especially your soul. I can't wait to go back to Africa. From start to finish, Micato's attention to detail, and insider knowledge of every destination we visited was exemplary. Their staff from pre-trip planning and during the trip were so engaged - from the arrival at the airport to the safari director who traveled with us every step of the way, the local guides, incredible concierge who was there for our needs, every member of their team is exceptional. I particularly appreciate their dedication to philanthropy, and engaging the local communities in the experience for guests. I can't imagine taking my next trip to Africa without Micato!

My first safari with Micato was 25 years ago when my mother and I saw what seemed like thousands of animals in Kenya and Tanzania. We also climbed Mount Kilimanjaro together. I knew at the time that if I came back to this part of the world I would only travel with Micato. It was a life changing experience.
I took my second safari with Micato in December of 2020. I was with my father, stepmother, sister and three nephews. And while the world had changed a lot over the last quarter century, Micato's commitment to OUTSTANDING excellence was exactly the same. From the second we stepped off the plane, I knew we were in exceptionally capable hands. Every detail was perfect.
Seeing my nephews trying to process the vast outdoors and amazing animals in the wild was simply amazing. One could could almost visibly see their horizons being broadened!
Our safari director, Kennedy (or Rafiki, as the boys called him) was knowledgeable, kind and accommodating...a true gem - he always had a smile on his face and was extremely patient with the boys' questions and shenanigans. It was clear that he was a parent himself. He also made sure that our Christmas was magical, beginning with a surprise bush breakfast and ending with an intimate dinner.
I have traveled all over the world and can honestly say that the warmth and kindness we experienced from each member of the Micato team was was unmatched. They brought Africa to life for me and my family in a way that will stay with us forever. I truly have never felt so well cared for, or experienced such luxury, service and adventure all rolled up into one glorious vacation. Whenever anyone asks me who to safari with I only have one answer: Micato.

Micato Safaris KNOWS Africa and has forged close relationships with all partners from hotels, to guides, to domestic airlines and many many more. I was wowed on more than one occasion - and the highlights included the excellent accommodations, the gourmet food and the service of the staff no matter where we went. It is obvious that Micato only works with the cream of the crop because they are the cream of the crop! Would highly recommend Micato Safaris for your next adventure!

Micato is one of the best African Safari Companies out there for high level experiences. The attention to detail provided to the guest before they depart on their journey until they return is unmatched. Micato is also incredibly philanthropic, which I feel is one of the best reasons to travel with them - they give back. I would not hesitate to recommend them to those that want this type of service - top notch!

We booked The Heart of Kenya and Tanzania safari with Micato November 2020 and it was the perfect bucket list safari! All of their guides and drivers were so nice, knowledgeable, and friendly - ultimate professionals! All of our accommodations were top notch. Even traveling during a pandemic, Micato helpednus every step of the way with planning, immigration requirements between countries, lining up testing to return home, I couldn't be happier with them. Well worth their classification as best luxury safari! We planned our trip as a once in a lifetime trip, and have already started planning how we can go back. Just amazing. Best experience we've ever had!

I traveled with Micato Safaris in December of 2020 to Kenya. Micato considered every detail to ensure an incredible experience. Not an easy task considering traveling during Covid-19 and testing requirments to enter Kenya as well as returning to the USA. The lodges were incredible, the wildlife phenominal. I would not have caught this photo below were it not for our guide telling the me the leopard was going to jump over the ravine. He knew what she was about to do and made sure we were there to see it! I can't say enough about Micato's attention to detail and I highly recommend visiting their philanthropic venture in Nairobi called America Share. It is life changing and that is what travel is all about!

I cannot say enough great things about my safari in Kenya with Micato. As this was my first trip overseas since the pandemic shut the world down, it was important that I was traveling with a trusted operator. I felt confident being in Micato’s hands based on their history of excellence and comprehensive safety protocols. I knew that should any surprises be thrown our way during the trip, Micato could handle it.
Needless to say Micato exceeded my already high expectations. It was an outstanding experience from start to finish and clear that Micato thought of every detail so we did not have to.
As a resident of New York, the travel requirements changed right before my departure (I traveled in December) and a negative test was needed for my return. Micato did not miss a beat and arranged for a COVID test to be administered as we traveled to Lewa Safari Camp. My test was conducted as I watched zebras graze behind the airstrip and was followed with a glass of local beer.
With Micato, I was able to fully soak up the safari experience knowing that they were at the helm. I returned home with beautiful memories, thanks to a perfectly executed trip in an exceedingly complicated travel climate.
I am so grateful to the entire team for such an unforgettable experience during a difficult year. If you are thinking about a Micato itinerary, call your travel advisor and book it now. It will be the trip of a lifetime!

I don't know if I can find the words for our experience with Micato. The trip of a lifetime and it was THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME! From the moment we stepped off the plane in Nairobi to the moment we entered the airport for our trip home they took care of everything. The guides were exceptional, the hotels were amazing and everything in between was simply perfect. You won't regret booking with Micato. My only regret is that I can't do this every year.

My safari with Micato is one of the best trips I've ever taken .. even during a pandemic. They take every trip detail seriously and make the entire experience as smooth as possible. I traveled to Kenya in December, and I felt safe and secure with the Micato team explaining/enforcing health precautions and equipping us constantly with masks, sanitizer, or anything we needed to be comfortable. Our safari director, Kennedy, was professional and informative but also sincerely friendly and enjoyable to travel with. On top of the amazing staff taking great care of us, the weather was perfect, accommodations stunning, and animals everywhere we looked. I will return to Africa again, and when I do, I plan to travel with Micato!

Traveling during this pandemic had us feeling a bit anxious, but after landing at Kilimanjaro and meeting our guide Rogers we started to feel more comfortable.
Rogers shepherded us everyday , anticipated our needs and always made sure we had needed information.
Rogers and our driver James made a great team, together they helped create an unforgettable trip. The information they provided about all the animals and local people added so much to help make our trip amazing.
We have been on 5 private tours in many parts of the world and this experience was definitely superior.

Our trip with Micato was amazing!!!! They truly went above and beyond to make sure every moment of our safari was special. The guides' knowledge about the animals was incredible and all our accommodations were wonderful. So much happened in a week, and it was clearly carefully curated behind the scenes that we would have all our needs anticipated and see as wide a range of animals as possible. Our Thanksgiving 2020 Family trip to Kenya went off without a hitch! It was a truly incredible experience. We had been looking forward to this trip since mid-2019. With Covid-19, some of us were, understandably, hesitant at first to see our trip through still. Once we arrived and were our on our safari, we were so glad we did! In the year 2020 has been, it was truly refreshing to disconnect from work, politics, Covid, and Twitter "doom-scrolling". It was great to see the professional approach Micato took to Covid protocols. Our guides, Dennis and Peter, were great and were a breadth of knowledge! Personally, I wasn't sure what to expect on a "luxury" safari, but boy was I impressed! The camps and amenities were top notch! From our group, a few of us went on to gorilla trek in Rwanda, which was also facilitated by Micato. Our driver-guide, Johnson, was great and provided some interesting insight to Rwanda and its history. All in all, I'd rate my experience with Micato 6/5 stars if I could! Trip of a lifetime!

My recent trip to Kenya with Micato Safaris delivered an experience beyond my expectations. As a top notch luxury safari operator, I knew Micato would provide incredible lodging, spectacular game viewing, special surprises, exclusive 5 star dinners and over the top sundowner experiences.
However, what I did not expect was to gain such an in depth knowledge and understanding of Kenya and its people. This is the Micato difference. The owners live in Kenya and they truly care about their travelers, the staff and Kenya. They are actively involved in handpicking and communicating with the guides and it shows. Every detail is handled and no request is too large.
In addition to keeping track of our game viewing and handling any large or small requests, our incredible guide was their from start to finish to help us learn about Kenya. We were able to hear first hand about the challenges of Kenya and ask questions about customs of the local tribes. Micato is not afraid to let you learn about the real Kenya, it's beauty and challenges. Because of this, I came home with an incredible vacation experience but also with a new understanding for a unique culture and lovely people that I will never forget.
Thank you Micato for giving me a real Kenya experience and also for keeping us safe during the pandemic. The protocols of safety were like nothing I have experienced in the USA and you made it easy to stay safe while traveling in Africa. Knowing such a reputable company with local presence was behind me made such a difference.

Words like amazing, awesome, wonderful only come up short for describing our vacation with Micato Safari. From the booking and preparation process, to arriving in Kenya, and through all the aspects of the safari experiences, everything about it exceeded expectations. We had our doubts about traveling during COVID but are so thrilled we didn't delay the experience any longer.

Traveling on safari in East Africa is truly a remarkable experience, and doing so with Micato is, in our minds, the manner in which to go. The company and staff are entirely buttoned up, and the details of the overall operation are executed flawlessly each day. The staff are extremely personable, and the guides are consistently informative. We enjoyed each of the properties in which we stayed, and memorable does not begin to adequately describe the actual daily wildlife viewings . We highly encourage the add-on itinerary ofvisiting with the Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda. This is one of those instances which falls into the descriptive of a “life time experience”. We highly recommend traveling with Micato Safaris as they are genuinely an A operation. As such, we hope to travel with them again with our children, their spouses, and our grandchildren.
