I absolutely love this place! I’ve been coming here since it opened. It’s a small intimate place filled with friendly staff, and the Pasteis are AMAZING. I’ve had Pasteis de Nata in Portugal, and having a bite out of these just took me back there. They were that great!

The cafe is a cute spot with delicious Portuguese egg tarts. The proprietor, Joey, is a really personable and chatty guy, and very easy to talk to. This place also just opened up so I encourage people to try it out and support the business. The tarts are so worth it and I look forward to their menu as it expands.

I use my 5 year old picky eater as my barometer for good dessert- he had 4 egg custards in one sitting. Very reminiscent of Macau’s Portuguese egg custards.

Incredible Portuguese pastries “Pastéis De Nata”. Go perfectly with a little espresso. You have to pass by. A little Portuguese Cafe mine in the heart of Lower East Side. Run by the owner Joey and Isabel, super friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic new addition to new york's East Village. With the take over of trendy shops with little to no personal touch -- the authenticity of this mother-son operation was just what the neighborhood needed. Isabelle (the mother of the owner) happily greeted my friend and I with complementary homemade baked goods which you could tell were made from years of practice and a love for food. She then told us about her time growing up in Portugal and her shock to find the limited offerings of Portuguese sweets in NYC. Her Portuguese Egg Tarts notably were like a delicious creme brulee wrapped in a crisp, flakey shell. For anyone looking for a small, affordable cafe this is an excellent place to stop for an iced coffee ($2) and try some homemade treats. Enjoy!
