I had an incredible experience here at Costal Jaw Surgery with Dr. Hernandez in Palm Harbor! During my consultation, the staff could not have been friendlier, really putting me at ease and telling me how amazing the doctor was before I even got to meet her. They were also super organized with all of my post-opt. instructions and getting my medications filled beforehand. Dr. Hernandez was so friendly, put me at such ease and I could really tell she was going to do an amazing job. I was a little anxious about having 2 impacted teeth of the 4 I was getting pulled at once, and she made me feel like it was going to be a breeze and not a complicated procedure. She also explained that they were going to perform PRF, which is where they’d draw some of my blood to form a clot to insert back into some of the extraction holes to provide extra healing properties and prevent dry socket, which made me feel really good to know pre-surgery since I was nervous about how my body would react and heal. She also told me she was going to put a numbing agent on the teeth that would last for about 3 days which also made me feel great about pain management going in. Dr. Hernandez really put me at ease about the level of sedation I’d be receiving, as I was afraid to be aware of anything during the surgery and she guaranteed me I wouldn’t remember a thing. Surgery day went great, she gave me a little anxiety medication for the night before to be able to relax, as well as the morning of so that I could go into surgery calm. I don’t remember a thing and wasn’t even really loopy for the rest of the day past getting in the car to be driven home. I usually swell pretty extensively over things, because my body is a bit sensitive and I was absolutely shocked that I barely had any swelling, just a tiny bit on my lower right side days 1 and 2. I am 3 days post-surgery as I am writing this and I have barely felt any pain. I have been taking the doses of ibuprofen the office provided, but have been feeling good this entire time. I hyped up my recovery to be a lot worse and I can’t even describe how pleased I am over my experience. I would highly recommend this office and Dr. Hernandez for wisdom tooth extraction. They were amazing!
