I was referred to Coastal Jaw Surgery a year ago for some periodontal work. Dr. Anthony Pikos did an excellent job! His staff is friendly and helpful and efficient. I just today went for my first cleaning aftrt everything has healed and Miranda was excellent! She was gentle and thorough and made sure she was not hurting me. She has a great personality. When I checked out and made my appointment formy next cleaning, the person at the front desk told me they have a new policy for cleaning appointments that one needed to place a $50 deposit on the next cleaning appointment because they were having so many cancellations. This was my first appointment for a cleaning and I have made all appointments scheduled for the other procedures on the scheduled day and have been on time. I told them I felt this was ridiculous and my money should not be held hostage for something that I did not have a havit of doing. When I protested they said I could just prepay my next appointment copay. I did this just to get out of there but I feel this is a ridiculous policy to apply to someone who has no history of cancelling, rescheduling or no showing. As much as I prefer this dentist and hygienist to any others my opinion of the operation is dimmed a bit by this policy.
