We had one of the best adventure in our lives with the CampEasy luxury 4x4 camper this April 2025. The first person to greet us after exiting the airport upon our arrival is Lidia, who drove the shuttle to fetch us in a rainy afternoon. With her warm smile and polite conduct, she then processed our check-in and camper collection, giving us a great first impression of the service culture in Iceland. She was also the last person to bid us farewell as we entered the airport for our departure. We will always fondly remember Lidia as the first and last person we met in Iceland.
The camper itself was designed for convenience and comfort. Everything just makes sense. From the storage design, to the sleeping arrangement, multiple charging ports (USBs and sockets), even the two cooling compartments (which we used one for frozen goods and the other for chilled goods - superb!-). Driving and handling was smooth! Of course, with the notorious icelandic wind, the camper did sway a little during windy days but nothing too difficult to overcome with light hands on the steering wheels. And of course, I must mention the heating system - suffice to say that in a snowy windy night, we underestimated the heating system and placed it almost maximum, only to find ourselves sweating in the middle of the cold night! Amazing feature! We have so many media to share about the camper but they are still unsorted, unfortunately. Perhaps, next time if this post is editable
We were in Iceland for slightly more than two weeks, camped across the country and seen many campers. Trust me when I say the CampEasy Luxury 4x4 is one of its kind and soars high. It sits in the middle of the standard van-sized campers and the motorhome (RVs). It has great height (sufficient for me (178 cm) to stand comfortably) unlike the others. Other standard-campervans are small and not sufficiently equipped as the Luxury 4x4, given the limited spacing. I've seen motorhome RVs struggling during windy days and some being "pushed" offroad by the wind. I also noticed that most motorhomes are front-wheel drive not 4x4 (I may be mistaken) from my observation in one of the campsites when multiple motorhomes were unable to move being stuck in snow. This may not be an issue in summer, but mind you, we didnt expect snow in mid-April but it came anyway and came heavy! Icelandic weather being Icelandic weather.
If you're planning to cook most of the time in Iceland, you may want an indoor cooking space which Luxury 4x4 provides, otherwise you will have to settle cooking outdoors, which I've seen happening in campgrounds and which often time takes quite a long time given the cold weather. Also, there is no need to "set-up" the cooking facility (burners, stove etc) because its all built-in the Luxury 4x4. Turning on and off the gas at the back of the van can be done from the inside but requires a crawl - nothing to difficult - if you want to avoid putting on shoes just to go outside.
Oh, another thing! The unlimited wifi provided with the camper had superb coverage and good speed! On one of the days, I backed up and uploaded almost 100gb of media and it was a breeze - completed within 2-3hours! The TV accompanied us with occasional netflix entertainment when we had to "stay-in" and "stay-put" at a campsite due to bad weather. In that sense, the camper provided us with flexibility.
All in, if you can stretch your budget or work around your travel itinerary to fit the budget, please seriously consider the Luxury 4x4. I cannot recommend it enough.
Thank you CampEasy!
