City Moving did a fantastic job with our international PCS move from a storage unit in Orlando to our home in Hawaii. Otis and his team were hardworking, easygoing, and incredibly professional. Everything arrived in perfect shape, and they made what could’ve been a really stressful move feel effortless. Highly recommended!

The packing and loading crew did a great job, and I want to especially recognize Ramon V. His attention to detail was next-level he made sure everything was secure and protected. You could tell he genuinely cared about doing the job right.

I totally blew it on the time zone math and missed the call about my delivery in Kauai. I figured that meant a long delay and me camping out with no furniture for the weekend. Instead, the driver just shot me a text like, “No worries, I can swing back this afternoon.” And he did. It even started raining halfway through and he helped bring everything inside with zero complaint. I’ve had movers show up mad about stairs before, this guy smiled through a downpour.

I had a shipment of solar panels and gear headed to a job site on the Big Island and fully expected at least one cracked panel or missing part. But City Moving didn’t miss a beat. The driver gave me a heads-up before arriving, and when he showed up, he stuck around to help haul the heavy stuff into the garage without me even asking. Professional and way more hands-on than I expected. Definitely not your average drop-and-run job.

Darren and Leo walked in, took one look at my antique cabinet and said, “We got this.” And they really did. Wrapped it like it was priceless (which, to me, it is), and it arrived in perfect condition. Then they stuck around after the job just to help rotate my couch “just a little more to the left.” That’s the kind of thoughtful touch you don’t expect but man, it makes a difference.

Mountain bike with custom handlebars, a paddleboard, golf clubs, basically a list of things movers usually groan at. But Jake and Victor didn’t even blink. They had every strap, pad, and moving trick in the book, and somehow made everything fit through a narrow hallway and a door frame I was sure would be a problem. They handled it all with that calm confidence you only get from serious experience.

Moving our entire home office setup from San Jose to Honolulu was a timing nightmare and my job couldn’t afford delays. City Moving understood immediately. They stayed in touch every step of the way, down to when the container left port and when it would hit my driveway. Our computers and desk setups were packed last so they’d come off first, and I was plugged in and back to work the same day. That kind of planning? You don’t see it often.

They were fast and efficient when it came to loading our stuff but if something goes wrong, don’t expect much support. We had a major issue with the shipment being severely underestimated, and when the truck filled up way too early, the driver was visibly stressed. We ended up leaving a bunch of our belongings behind. The worst part? No one from City Moving would answer the phone not for us, not for the trucking company. We were basically on our own to figure everything out. Definitely a rough experience.

Melissa and her crew showed up and immediately took the reins. They told me to take a break (which I did!) and got right to work. The truck was packed up fast, and Melissa double-checked everything at the end to make sure nothing was missed. It was such a relief to have a team that knew what they were doing and handled it all so smoothly.

Shipping pottery across the ocean is not for the faint of heart. I had a whole batch of handmade pieces headed from Portland to Kauai for a pop-up market, and every bump in the road felt like a potential disaster. But the movers treated those boxes like actual art (which, hey, they kinda are). The driver even double-checked with me before opening the crate to make sure we had the right tools, which saved me from a total panic. Everything arrived in one piece, but that’s on me.

I inherited some fragile heirlooms from my grandmother, 1920s glass, hand-carved console table, the kind of stuff movers usually side-eye. But City Moving came prepared with custom crates, foam wraps, and what honestly felt like reverence. The stuff looked like it had been teleported straight from San Diego to Maui. Not a single chip, scratch, or crack. Even my skeptical aunt was impressed, and that’s saying something.

John and Mike showed up at 8 a.m. sharp and treated the whole move like a tactical mission. They didn’t just pack, they strategized. Sentimental stuff got extra wrap, nothing got tossed, and they kept me in the loop the whole way. It wasn’t just smooth, it was calming. I’ve never used “peaceful” to describe a move before, but here we are.

Third-floor walk-up. No elevator. Brooklyn. Kara and Paul showed up early, scoped out the stairs with a knowing nod, and just got to work. They moved fast without rushing, disassembled my IKEA wardrobe like they’d done it a thousand times (and rebuilt it better than I ever did). I didn’t lift a finger. Honestly, I thought I’d end the day sore and cranky instead, I felt weirdly… fine. Total legends.

We were downsizing from a spacious Texas house to a condo in Honolulu. I was already losing sleep thinking about how we’d even begin sorting it all. But the City Moving crew acted like personal moving consultants. They helped us figure out what was coming, what could be donated, and what needed extra love (like my mom’s ancient upright piano). They even coordinated a storage drop in Oahu and split the delivery so we weren’t drowning in boxes all at once. It felt less like hiring movers and more like gaining a project manager.

After 20 years in Vegas, I finally made the move to retire in Hawaii. I had no idea how to start, just a house full of memories and bulky furniture. The City Moving crew didn’t rush me. They gave me time, helped sort what to donate, and even packed fragile heirloom china I hadn’t touched in a decade. When the shipment showed up in Honolulu, they placed every piece of furniture exactly where I needed it and unpacked just enough so I could make dinner that night. That’s when it hit me: I’m home. And they helped make it feel that way.

Henry, James, and Sam were fantastic during our delivery. They didn’t just drop things off, they took the time to make sure everything was placed where we wanted it, and they handled all our items with care. Super friendly and professional the entire time. Really appreciated the attention to detail.

From start to finish, City Moving nailed it during our job relocation. The setup, the packing, the delivery all of it ran like clockwork. The team was organized, fast, and super easy to work with. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a more seamless experience.

Helping my son move into his freshman dorm in Hilo felt like it should've come with a warning label and a support group for parents. But honestly? It was smoother than dropping him off at summer camp when he was six. The City Moving crew didn’t just show up, they showed up with good vibes and actual patience. They unpacked his chaos-in-a-box situation, set up his mini fridge like it was a NASA mission, and even unearthed his lost phone charger like it was treasure. For a nervous parent trying not to sob in public, this was exactly the kind of calm I needed.

Moving within Oahu doesn’t usually come with “above and beyond” moments, but this crew brought the energy. They didn’t just drop stuff, they asked where everything should go, helped lay down the rug without being asked, and gave me the names of a few local furniture spots when I mentioned I needed a new desk. By the time they left, I had working Wi-Fi, a made bed, and my coffee maker humming. It felt like home before the sun went down.

When our shipment arrived in Honolulu, the crew immediately prioritized the kids' stuff. Bunk beds? Built first. Toy bins? Unpacked. Nightlights? Plugged in before sunset. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. We were bracing for a day full of meltdowns, but instead, my wife and I actually got to sit down and breathe. It made our first night feel like we’d already settled in.
