Beyond Grassroots
Called in to diagnose my girlfriend’s bike chain which came off the other day. Spoke to Mario and he told me to come by. I was greeted by Efrein and after taking a quick look he popped the pedal off and had me on my way in 15 minutes. These guys know bikes and are available. Most importantly, they WANT to help you!
Although this may have been an easy fix, I can’t say enough good things about this experience. Thank you Mario and thank you Efrein for taking time to help fix my bike. Happy riding!

I had an incredible experience at Trek Bicycle Alamo Heights, thanks to Tim and the amazing team. As someone with no prior experience and just a general idea of what I needed, I was blown away by the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff.
Tim went above and beyond to make sure I was set up with the right gear. He helped me find a great pair of cycling shoes that were even on sale, matched them with the correct cleats (which I didn’t even realize I needed!), and analyzed my walking gait to fine-tune the settings. The level of detail and care was truly impressive.
A big thank you to Tim and the team for their exceptional customer service. If I ever need anything cycling-related, this is the only place I’ll go!

This shop is studded with superstars! Every member of the floor and service staff was friendly, superbly knowledgeable and extremely efficient with our time. We purchased a Verve 3 out of the box based on the staff's knowledge of how its size differed from other Trek bikes we had tested. We accessorized two ebikes with their help. Let me start by commending several associates at the Trek Bicycle Shop at Alamo Heights for their constant above and beyond service! From the moment you walk in you’re greeted with a genuine smile. From the start, Tim took the time to help me find the right bike. He wasn’t worried about commission, nor was he trying to upsell me. He genuinely cared to match me with the perfect bike that fit all my needs, which ended up being the 2025 FX Sport 6. I also had several accessories added to my bike, though one particular part ended up being faulty. Ian the genius bike mechanic was quick to resolve the issue by ordering a different better part, and making sure that it stayed in place. It’s obvious that he cares about the quality service provided at this particular location. Roger is a great ambassador for the shop. Every time I encountered him, whether in person or over the phone, he was eager to assist with any and all requests. Not to mention, that he remembered my name every time I walked through the door or called over the phone. Mario was kind enough to assist me with a protective wrapping service for my bike, even though it’s not a service usually provided. Talk about going above and beyond for customer’s needs! This entire team is made up of courteous dedicated professionals. I strongly believe that attitude reflects leadership, and that was confirmed once I met the shop manager Efren. He was always courteous and hospitable. Literally, from end of the store to the other, you notice the care and concern that he has in making sure that every customer is completely satisfied. He treats his associates like family, and his customers like hotel guests. It’s no wonder why this entire team stands out above any other customer service entity that I’ve encountered. He doesn’t fit you by the numbers, he gets to know you at a personal level and brakes it down so you can understand every facet of the process. Had a great experience with the staff! Eddie & Tim went above and beyond to get me the right bike. I was deciding between a road bike or gravel bike and what would fit my needs more. I was given the /- and never once felt any pressure. These guys are extremely knowledgeable and answered all my dumb questions. Finding the right bike for me was a process and they were very patient with me. If you are looking for the right fit this is the place to come. Tim got me dialed in perfectly on my new gravel bike.

Great, friendly, knowledgeable assistance by Salesman Tim. Tim helped me decide between two Trek Madone models that I had my eye on. The assistance and attention Tim gave me while purchasing my bike was excellent. Time did some adjustments to the bike so that I could be as comfortable as possible. Time went above and beyond. I came home with my dream Madone bike. If anyone is in the market for a bike, go to Bike World-Alamo Heights and ask for Tim.

This bike shop is absolutely incredible. I brought my first cycling shoes to Tim for cleats and he went above and beyond to help me make sure I knew how to clip in, adjust my seat on my bike and make sure I was ready to go. The customer service is incredible and you can tell every single person in the shop is extremely passionate about what they do. As a beginner I was a little nervous but was treated amazingly. I have never felt compelled to write a google review ever - until now. I live closer to other shops but I’m always now coming here and telling my family. Thanks for all the help!

Bike World Alamo Heights is the first place I go for top-of-the-line bike gear year-round, plus specialty items and gifts at Christmastime. This store is a mainstay of the local community network of bike shops, and the staff members are both attentive and professional in recommending products that suit different kinds of cyclists. My recent visit was to buy a couple of items that were on sale for the holidays, including a Trek holiday sweater. I was greeted right when I entered the store by Lou, who guided me to the sales section, and C.P., whose ebullient smile and energetic salesmanship made for a wonderful experience. Tim was smart and courteous in ensuring that I paid the discounted price for both of the shirts I bought. I'm looking forward to my next trip to Bike World Alamo Heights and would love if the store carried a wider selection of supplies, including commuter pro helmets, messenger and handlebar bags, and cycling shorts and jerseys.

This place rocks, I walked in on Oct 11th and left with an Emonda SL 6. Super helpful fitting you to the bike watching you ride to make sure it’s fit for you. One week later I’ve been back like 3 times with questions and looking for advice on gear, I haven’t had anyone that could not answer a question nor tying to up sell. You may have to wait a bit of their busy, but I’ll say it’s worth a little time to get this kind of service. This is my go to shop even though I live in Alamo Ranch.

Excellent customer service pretty much every time I visit the store! With the exception of the one time I was offered unsolicited (condescending) advice about what gear my bike was in when I took it in for service by a younger male bike mechanic, this location always takes great care of me and my bike. The store is always clean. The staff is always happy. I will continue to use this location for my cycling needs and happily recommend them to my cycling friends!

I stopped in a few weeks ago to get sized for a bicycle after sitting on the idea for about a year. Eddie was easy-going, informative, and helped me find an extra small bicycle I felt comfortable on. Tim was patient and answered all my questions when I finally returned to purchase. Although it took me a little while to save for I didn't feel that any other shop had earned my business. I am super happy with my purchase and the service that was provided.
