The Freedom Machine were great supporters of the RACV /Bicycle Network, The Ascent, all women's ride. Their Ambassadors very generously led training rides and were encouraging and motivating on the day of the ride. Any time I went into their Richmond store I was always made to feel that no question was too silly and the staff were always willing to assist.

I came in to true a wheel, the guys did an absolutely fantastic job, identified potential issues with the bike that went well beyond what was expected. Their experience and professionalism is of the highest calibre, and I would recommend this shop to anyone in need of a repair, service or in the market for a new bike

Great bunch of guys. Rang up and wanted some information on a product, They advised not in stock but could get it in the next day. Notified me once arrived and picked it up. I didn't have proper tool to install said product, so they lent me theirs from the workshop! top service

Was helped out by Beth over the phone and in store who helped me fit out my new Domane SL5. Have to say it was an exceptional experience with Beth going above and beyond in helping me choose the right accessories, getting them all fitted nicely and adjusting my seat to the right height. Only issue was that when I got the bike home for my first ride I discovered the gears were mis-aligned. Now I have to wait a few days until it can be serviced! That said I was overall impressed with the service. Their knowledge and enthusiasm to help was the best I have had in any bike shop. Just need to work on the QA checklist before putting the bike on the floor for sale. :)

The TFM team know their stuff, picked up the awesome Trek Fuel EX9, Darius was really helpful and set me up with a 29er that is a hummer on the downhill and billy goat on the climbs!

My partner needed his stem replaced on his front wheel of his mountain bike. Ended up they blew his tyre, then blamed him for it. Said they could do what he needed when quoting just to get the job but feel they don’t have the specialisation needed on top end mountain bikes.

Terrible experience today with the staff at Trek Richmond after coming in with an emergency flat tyre and not having my tools on me to change the tube. Even after explaining I had no way to get home (back near Coburg), they said they had no time to help me and I could come back another day (reminder: I had an emergency FLAT TYRE). Ended up changing my own tube after they lent me tools (1 ⭐for that, wasn't an option they enthusiastically offered) but overall I found the experience staggeringly unhelpful considering it's a bike store.

I took my $8999 Giant MTB to Trek Richmond thinking a bike mechanic can service any bike. Was I wrong! I arrived on my booked date, only to be told when I was there they could not service it that day. I left it with them and after 8 days of waiting, chasing I goty bike back. $800 later, a new cassette, chain, brake pads and through axel and they didn't do the gear alignment (see below video) they told me thet had 2 people test ride it and it was fine. Clearly not, so they told me to take it to Giant and get them to fix it. Do not trust them with your bike if it's not a Trek. I'd honestly be surprised if they can service them correctly. Very poor customer service experience and waste of money.

"Any bike, any brand" says their website....unless it's a non-Trek brand eBike, apparently. For the second time I've been turned away by them when all I've wanted is a flat tyre fixed: the first time I was told they don't deal with eBikes that have been modified (I installed a Swytch wheel, so hardly a dodgy install), this time I was told they don't deal at all with non-Trek eBikes (this was for a normal eBike). Gotta love a bike service shop that doesn't service bikes.

The service and communication at this specialist Trek Bicycle shop is abysmal. Work was not started at the time it was supposed to be finished. Cost more than quoted. Then went to pick bike up after being told it was ready and they suggested more work to make the bike functional. Some of the staff are extremely rude. Would not go there again at all.

To be honest I am extremely disappointed. I dropped my bike off for full rebuild on 3 February 2024 and said I was not in a rush but would like to pick it up first week of March they agreed to this and I paid a 50% deposit so there would be no out of pocket expenses for the bike shop. I emailed a follow up on 6 March 2024 asking for a pick up date. I was told they would check with the mechanic and let me know I followed up again on 13/03 with no response as I had not heard anything. I rang the store on 18/03 and mechanic did not know anything about my bike and he would check with the manager. He came back on the phone and said they would try and squeeze it in this week as they had other booked jobs but I would hopefully be ready the week of 25/03/2024. It really is not that hard and I believe that they should prioritise a job that was booked and expected to be completed 25 days earlier. Poor communication and just very dissatisfied
