Dr. Murphy and his staff helped to secure the smile I've always wanted! I'm forever grateful and indebted to them for the care they provided before, during, and after my gingevectomy and crown lengthening. This is the office I would send my family and friends!!

Dr. Murphy and the entire team at Stoner Periodontic are the definition of professional! They actually turned away business (me), because they thought it would be in my best interest to watch and wait - not perform surgery. Knowing I'd be moving across the country, they also found me the name of another stellar practice on the west coast. Just this brief visit showed me enough to recommend them to my friends and family still back in Columbus!

My dentist, Dr. Walters, recommended Dr. Stoner for my gum graft in summer 2012. The idea of dental work always makes me nervous and I had never been sedated for a procedure before. The consultation put my mind at ease. The staff was excellent, from the front desk to the billing. Obviously I have no recollection of the actual procedure since I was sedated but the treatment before and after was amazing. Dr. Stoner explained everything and answered every question I had. Recovery time went as expected. I would recommend this office to anyone looking for a periodontist.

Dr. Stoner's office staff was very professional and friendy and made me feel like I was in a spa, even though my visit there was for a gingivectomy! Dr. Stoner did an amazing job and made the veneers I received afterward look so amazing. I would highly recommend Stoner Periodontics for any work you may need.

I have been sending my patients (I'm a dentist) to Stoner Perio for years because of the quality care those patients are given. When I needed gum treatment for my own mouth there was only one place I would go. The facility is beautiful and has the latest technology. The staff is wonderful and helpful with every need and question. Dr. Murphy did a fantastic job with my gum grafting. I couldn't be more pleased with my personal and professional relationship with Stoner Periodontic Specialists!

I've been so impressed with everyone at the Dr. Stoner periodontist practice in Columbus. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The day of my surgery, Kelly was the one who prepped me and she was specially comforting. At my followup appointment I didn't feel rushed at all. Dr. Stoner is a great listener. He just kept asking questions. I feel like in most practices you can tell when they're trying to keep you moving which in turn makes me not get all of the information that I need. I know I could call in with any questions or concerns I would have and everything would be taken care of. Thank you Dr. Stoner and his great team!

Medical team is knowledgable and competent. Treatment went well. But financial team seems a bit lagging, insurance claims took almost a year and still not sure whether they have been done. Maybe that is why patient needs to pay 100% upfront first. ?

Overall procedure was good for my son; however, this place requires full payment upfront and does not disclose if they are out of network for insurance. They are not good at returning calls or helping deal with insurance claims. I have been dealing with insurance since Nov 2023. I’m not pleased with overall service.

My gripe is Stoner's business (payment) model. Unlike most other dental businesses, FULL payment it out of your pocket. The speed of payback from the dental insurance is reliant upon how fast the Stoner staff submits the request AND of the insurance company. If you have two insurance policies, you may have to keep on the Stoner staff to submit for the secondary insurance to get further coverage.

Be cautious. I went for a consultation with one of the associate doctors on the recommendation of a friend. (There is a cost for a consultation at this place!) The staff is over-the-top friendly and also had me believing I was a very bad case, even though I take impeccable care of my teeth and gums. "But, believe it or not, we have seen much worse than you!" They also spent a lot of time with me explaining every detail of the procedure. They answered all of my questions and let me know that I was extremely important. However, I was shocked with the estimate--over $15,000, none covered by insurance! That's right. They do not run it through your insurance! Red flags for me: 1. They did not want it run through insurance. (A few obvious reasons why.) 2. They insisted that full anesthesia would be needed. (Not true. Local takes much less money, and I still would not feel anything. Plus, I would actually know what was being done to me.) 3. They wanted to graft around teeth where the enamel wasn't missing. This is important because those teeth were not in danger. In order to graft those teeth the enamel would have to be scraped away so the grafted gum would adhere to it. Why damage good enamel? Then a revised treatment plan was supplied--still over $11,000. No way could I justify that for something like hereditary gum recession. (Though their scares led me to believe I really should). This led me to look into the procedure more carefully. After I did, I realized that some things they told me when they answered my questions were just not true, maybe even lies--for example, that Ohio periodontists are one of the worst for this procedure and most perios do not use latest technology, that other perios in the area use outdated procedures and don't have the education or equipment that Stoner has. They even gave wrong information about the doctor I eventually used to do the procedure! I also found out that Stoner Perio spends a great deal of time and energy in marketing. That's right. When they could be treating people, they spend time in dentists' offices promoting their own office with worst-case scenario, latest procedures, impressive presentations. That is why dentists might be referring their patients to Stoner. Stoner's office advertising is extremely important because if they can get the dentists on-board to recommend Stoner to their patients, Stoner can take the patients for big money. After finding out all of that, I got an estimate/second opinion elsewhere. (There was no cost for consultation at this other office!) The procedure (yes, the same procedure) was not only the same technique, but 1/3 of the cost--BEFORE my insurance paid, and my insurance actually did pay for most of the cost. I ended up paying around $300 out-of-pocket. I am crazy about the perio I chose because he is a good guy, does a nice and state-of-the-art job with grafting, is honest, does NO advertising, spends whatever time I need explaining things to me, and is one-third the cost (well, even less than that after insurance!) Follow-up appointments were also great and part of the initial cost! So I now have a beautiful smile again and saved a heck of a lot of money. And I feel sorry for anyone who is suckered into going to Stoner Perio at any of their three locations. Nice people, but it's all to manipulate you into emptying your pocketbook.

Stoner put 3 implants in my mouth. 1 implant touched a very sensitive area that he said should be fine, but it caused severe pain for at least a year. I had to pay a surgeon to removed it. I tried to get a refund since I now have to purchase a bridge. They promised many times to call me back to let me know if they will refund but they never did. I lost money on the implant, the removal and partial payment for a crown, and the future cost of a bridge.

I regret the day I walked into this office. They put me in so much pain, I've been on Tylonal every 4 hours around the clock for over a month now. The pain I am in right now as I write this is so severe, and they could care less. When I asked for a refil of pain meds, they made me feel like a straight up criminal. Told me was going to get "flagged" and had me thinking the police were going to show up at my door and arrest me for 8 pills I got from the pharmacy. Why is my suffering and excruciating pain that they caused wrong? Why would you say I shouldn't be in pain when you put a screw in my jaw?!?! I have called them, and been into see them over this lingering pain multiple times and all they say is "you shouldn't be in this much pain", and then I'm just left to suffer by myself, being gaslit into thinking it's all in my head. I haven't had a full night's sleep in over a month now and every aspect of my life has changed for the worse. 4 hours of sleep a night is just cruel. My anxiety has increased trifold thanks to the pain this office put me in. They knocked out a filling during the first surgery, tried to deny it until they put the before and after exrays up which showed a filling, then a missing filling. I had to pay out of my own pocket to get that fixed at my dentist office, and when I did get it fixed, Stoner's office had my anxiety levels up so high, I puked at the dentist office from fear. They also offer sedation/anesthesiologist for your surgery. I needed it due to my anxiety, and the fact that they were doing a bone graph and implant. They gave me medication to take before the procedure for anxiety, them made me sign paperwork while on the medication, and took my debit card during the surgery to pay for the anesthesiologist. THEY TOOK ALL MY MONEY OUT OF MY BANK ACCOUNT! Because I was on meds after the surgery, I didn't know until the next day when I tried to buy groceries and my card got declined. I almost got evected from my home because they took all my rent. They told me it would be $850 and they took all the money I had while I was under anesthesia. How is that even legal??? The second surgery the same thing happened. When I only had the $850 on my account (it took me a while to save up for it) they blew up my phone with these nasty voicemails, and Stoner's office decided they will give out the phone number of the person who took me to my surgery to get money from them. Pretty sure thats against hippa laws, but I guess this office can do whatever they want. The anesthesiologist tried to take over $1100 out of my account the second time which i didnt have. I literally had to fight these people. Plus they got into it with my pharmacy, I was so embarrassed I had to switch pharmacies. To sum it up, Stoner Periodontics has completey ruined my life by putting me in continous pain and suffering, leaving me with thousands of dollars of debt I will be paying off for years, increased my dental anxiety by a million percent, stole my sleep and my sanity. They need to tell you the medications you will and will not be taking, and that this process will take a year of your life, or that you could have bought a car with the amount of money you will spend out of pocket (they bill your insurance on the back end, pay in full upfront). Also, you don't get to pick your appointment times and dates. They just do it for you, and you get a random txt saying when and where. Forget about going to just one office either. My original appointment was at Tremont which is next to my house. They keep switching my appointments from Dublin to Upper Arlinton and back. It's confusing honestly. Here at Stoner, you are just another number, another bank account. I feel 100% violated, and robbed of my normal life. I am only one person in their huge network, so I know I don't really matter to them. I just want someone-anyone to know how much suffering goes into this whole process, and how insignificant they can make you feel.

I’m less than impressed. Leading up to having some dental work done; I foot stomped several times that the only pain relief I can take must be Tylenol and that anything else will cause a life and death situation for me. As I sat in the dental chair, the dental assistant offered me ibuprofen. Let’s just say I wasn’t happy about that. I can completely understand someone from the office calling me just to see I’m doing/feeling. However, I received flowers a couple days after I had work on my mouth done. Seriously?!?!

One of the pushiest, and money greedy dentists I have ever encountered. They had the X rays previous, and kept pushing a CT scan for 400 bucks. "Here quickly sign this ". The Dentist didnt even have the grace to introduce himself. Told my own Dentist who did the referral how pushy and inconsiderate the vibe was here. They apologized and Stoner took my 400 bucks and and referred me elsewhere. Really consider other options and dont mind the profit of people ego attitude this place has. Shame on them. And the shrine in the lobby. Repulsive and disgusting and they know it,
