If you’re wondering what the cruise is like, it’s a bad high school prom on a boat. The music and food is mediocre, the boat is outdated, and the whole experience is a bit of an eye-roll. It does provide beautiful views from the Hudson, but these could be accessed from non-prom boats.

We took the signature dinner cruise aboard the Spirit of New Jersey from Chelsea Pier, 61. The food was just plain awful. Drinks were OK but waitress did not know what a glass of chardonnay was. They did not tell us, but 45 minutes of the cruise was waiting at a pier in Newark to pick up a second group. The only decent thing was a nice view of the Statue of Liberty. Overpriced for the level of food and service. Not recommended.

I have paid $550 for a brunch cruise. We had a party of 5, all vegans. Thank you for offering vegan diet preference on booking, but I wish you would also give at least 40% discount for whoever chooses vegan option, as due to the food we were served I felt the cruise company has saved a lot of money on us as compared to the regular menu. Instead of taking out the cheese from a starter salad (which was actually a bit of green leaves and two piecesof cherrytomatoes), you could simply change it to vegan cheese (there are plenty of them on the market). Main course was delicious, but again - all other guests were served chicken, but we had grilled vegetables. For dessert everyone were served cheesecakes, but for us they had a small fruit plate, and not of the best freshness... also, they didn't even have any kind of plant based milk for coffee! I felt very disappointed that vegans aren't still less discriminated. I don't understand what I have paid $110 /person... I would agree to pay $40/person for the cruise by itself, but i wouldn't feel good paying more than $20/person for the three course meal that we were served.

This cruise line does not cater to children. There was no children options. We all know how picky children can be. They had no pizza, chicken nuggets, no hamburgers, no mac n cheese. Several children had to eat just bread!. No to mention we found a hair in our food.

My husband booked a surprise birthday dinner for me. It was thoughtful and although the views were beautiful. The food was underwhelming and the service was eh, we had a rickety table and they refused to move us to any of the other tables.

Food was good. Service not so good. Head waitress was friendly but the rest of the wait staff didn’t smile or seem to want to be there. Took almost an hour to get a drink. Our group of 6 received our meals at separate times. Soup was warm. Had to ask for bread and water.

The service is good but everything else is a total fail. This ship looks like a warehouse with chandeliers. Not very romantic at all. The food is subpar and my beef short rib came with a mini ice cream scoop size of mash potatoes and 1 carrot sliced in half. There are plenty of dinner cruise options in NYC not sure why they dont even care to compete with the main thing they have control over... the food. Disappointed to say the least.
