I saved to fly my husband to ny for Father’s Day for this cruise and couldn’t have been more disappointed. Took an hour to order.. literally two hours for our bottle of wine to come only for the waitress to say they were out of what were order she also came at dinner time to advise they were out of the steak we upgraded to we asked if we could pay more to dock or see a manager. It was that upsetting and ruined our entire trip waitress couldn’t care less about the horrible service not worth the cost as what we did eat was cold and small portioned I booked through viator and wish I knew who to contact for a refund as the entire experience was truly the worst dinning experience I have ever had

NOT VEGAN FRIENDLY. On the website, they state they have vegan options, and also offer that option when making the reservation. Unfortunately, there was NO VEGAN food whatsoever on the boat. We ended up paying only for the “trip”, and a couple drinks. Honestly we felt robbed, and no refund was ever made regarding this issue. We will never book with this company ever again

I booked a brunch cruise for 9 people on May 30th, and the attendant Cordell was very pleasant during the booking only to get on board and to be told by the manager that he was short staffed and therefore, could not accommodate us. I understand the staffing shortage as most businesses are dealing with similar issues however, the manager was very rude as if we were asking for a favor when in fact we paid over $1000.00 for the brunch. I hope that the City Cruises will hire more staff and educate its employees on how to be more professional like Cordell.

Food arrived very late. By the time we got our dinner, we had 30 mins left until we dock. They gave us a voucher to be told there are nothing available.

Our cruise was on July 6 for lunch. It was a terrible experience we ever had on a lunch cruise. The boarding process went quite well and once we started sailing we started to feel hot and realized that the air conditioning wasn't working normal. We informed to the manager but guess what she already knew that the air conditioning was broken. So on one side of the cruise it was normal and on the other side where we sat it was terrible almost every single guest was sweating so badly that they used menu cards to blow air and dry themselves. The so called LUXURY CRUISE ended up being sweaty. Then they realized its going out of control and handed over little fans to help us out and guess what a table of two will only get one fan because they are stingy. When it comes to the food the salad served as an appetizer was gone bad. All the spring mix leaves were spoiled in my salad. The chicken breast we got served was quarter of the breast so it looked like a sparrow breast instead of chicken. So little and very dry but the sauce was good. Overall I wouldn't recommend this trip to anyone. Waste of money.

We were on the evening cruise last night. The service was terrible. Took over an hour to get a drink after boarding. Dinner was served at almost 10pm. We were starving at this point. Dessert at 10:30. Ridiculous! We were looking forward to this cruise since we had taken it a few years ago and it was fabulous. We were so disappointed. I responded to their email survey this morning. I have not yet had a response.

We booked this cruise 2 weeks before our departure to New York. It was to be our last night in NY and the highlight of our trip from the UK. We upgraded to the ‘first class dinner’ option on the ‘Bateaux’ at a cost of over $600, and were looking forward to dining at a window table, to our waiter service, our amuse bouche, 3 course meal with a cocktail, fine wines and open premium bar, and to be entertained by a live group. On the evening in question we excitedly dressed up, got our taxi and arrived at Pier 61 to get our boarding passes. We handed over our ID and confirmation email and the staff behind the counter said that we were booked onto the ‘Spirit of New York’. Huh? Wait, what? Yeah, the ‘Bateaux’ is overbooked so now you’re on that boat instead. Shocked was an understatement. So, we get the same deal then? The waiter service, the premium bar, the entertainment? Nah, it’s more of a party boat, with a DJ and a buffet. Still reeling from the shock we declined to board the ‘Spirit of New York’. It was not the evening we wanted, or booked, not to mention the huge difference in price. Staff could not care less and said the blame was with Viator and told us to sort it out with them. To avoid any comeback at a later time we phoned Viator there and then and got a full refund. But this ruined our entire trip. We have used Viator before but unsure whether we will again. They had our contact details yet did not warn us of any possible changes to our booking. My advice? Do not reserve this trip for any special/romantic occasion as there is no guarantee that your booking will be honoured. Update: July 1: after emailing as requested below I have had ZERO response to my complaint. Customer service absolute rubbish.
