Starts slow which I guess is ideal for beginners. Very systematic in it's presentation. It builds gradually in it's complexity and before you know it your involved in very melodic exercises that disassociate one hand from the other. Excellent closeups with the video. I am taking my time to really learn the skills but looking forward to the kind of fingerpicking music I will be able to produce.

Joe takes a complicated style of guitar playing and breaks it down so that it can be learned if someone puts the time and effort into practicing. Putting it in bite size short videos really helps. I’ve played guitar now for many years and a couple of his videos I had to work on the material for over a week to get the lesson under my fingers. He’s an excellent instructor. I’ve tried other video courses and had a book or two on Fingerstyle with a thumb pick but it didn’t take, this course is doing it for me. I’m very happy and loving it.

Well paced lessons with just the right amount of information so you're not overwhelmed. Joe's tips are very helpful, he obviously remembers what it is like starting out.

Joe slows down the pattern required to learn a small section of each song and repeats it over and over again until the student can duplicate it. He says takes it slow and easy, explains each set of notes clearly, telling the student to start real slow until he / she masters the notes and accompanying pattern. Then Joe says when you are comfortable with the notes and pattern, you can then start to slowly increase your speed. A great way to explain playing any great song!
