Recently I had Trek of Shawnee Mission (the purchasing location) work on my Trek, Carbon FX4, due to the cable guide(s) on the bottom of the BB. The bike was new in April of 2021 and has about 1200 miles on it now.
The cable guide had come loose from its’ mount and now the cable was going to start to cut into the frame.
After the mechanic looked at the problem, he created a fix and promptly repaired the problem. So far, it has worked. He also checked the rear hub for what I thought was an abnormal sound, checked the chain for stretch, and did a tune up on the rear derailleur.
This was a no charge repair and I very much appreciate the customer service. Good customer service is worth its’ weight in gold in my book and will not be forgotten.
It’s good to be able to take your bike to a place where people care about their work and have a good work ethic.
Trek needs to address this problem at a factory level. I am sure this is a systemic problem on this bike.
