Instead of just ignoring my broken clavicle torn from my shoulder, i was able to get full temporary care of my injury before surgery could be fit in without entirely immobilizing me. Via competent x-rays & MRIs, Midwest Orthopedics was able to see that my neck bone was no longer connected to my shoulder bone. Dr Daniel Gaffney was fully able to explain his surgical procedure with ligaments, nerves, rotator, shoulder and broken clavicle, then accomplish it proficiently with complete competence! He has ensured it hasn't been damaged while regrowing new ligaments he sewed in replacement between the shoulder and clavical while triggering regrowth of nerves, rebuilding muscle capability with the neck, shoulder and trapezious. The initial surgery improved pain level 95%, making it possible to tolerate the rest of the healing process, projected to take another year-18 months after surgery surgery.

MD West is the Best! I have had several visits this year for De Quervain’s tenosynovitis. It’s so great to see that this Ortho team works together for their patients. Dr. Gaffney, Dr. McCarthy, Anna, & the surgical team & office staff have been amazing to work with. Thank you for all of your care! Happy New Year to all~❤️

I had cubital tunnel syndrome (half my hand was going numb), so I went to Dr Gaffney and he was fantastic. He was able to walk me through everything that needed done, answered all my questions honestly and comfortingly, and made me feel super comfortable about my first surgery ever. It was quick, painless, and my recovery was a breeze. I'd recommend Dr Gaffney to everyone I know.

My Dad had a carpal tunnel with Dr Gaffney. He was very pleased with him. He answered all his questions. He felt very comfortable with him and talking to him during his procedure(local anesthesia) eased his mind too. He had good results from the surgery.

Dr. Gaffney did an awesome job on my shoulder. I haven't been able to move it like I can now for many years. Thanks for all you did.

Dr. Gaffney clearly explained what was causing the discomfort in my shoulder, and the best course of treatment. He felt that for a man my age, 88, to rebuild the shoulder was not a good choice. He chose a series of cortisone shots to lessen the soreness. I explained that due to a toothache I had taken a Ibuprofen tablet and discovered that also relieved the discomfort in my shoulder. He agreed that might be a good idea, but to check with my primary Dr. to be sure that didn't interfere with any of my other meds. I really appreciated the fact that he was willing to have this ability to truly listen to his patient

I was very happy with my recent visit on 9/9/19. Dr. Gaffney and his P.A. treated me so respectfully and with such kindness, I was thoroughly impressed. They made my cortisone shots as pleasant as possible. I will recommend him to anyone who asks. Also, his P.A. looked like she should be a model, tall, thin, and beautiful.

We have so many positive things to say about Dr. Gaffney. Our 6-yr old son cut his left index finger. It was two weeks later before we found out his tendon was torn and he couldn't move the top of his finger. We saw a specialist in Lincoln (our hometown) but he had only done one surgery on a child his age and was not very optimistic about the process. Something didn't sit right with my wife and I, so we decided to get a second opinion. Dr. Gaffney was recommended to us, and we were able to get in the next day. Although there were risks involved with the surgery, he was still optimistic that we could get to a final result of movement back in the top of his finger. His bedside manner was wonderful, you could tell he really cared about the best for our son and wanted to best for all of us, taking his time to walk through the process and answer any questions/concerns we had. We were able to have surgery two days later, and it went great. My wife was in tears after surgery because of how happy she was that we found Dr. Gaffney and that he took such good care of our son. When starting PT in Lincoln the therapist had mentioned he was impressed that Dr. Gaffney had used 8 stitches to connect the tendon, as most of the Lincoln doctors standard practice is only 4. We can't recommend Dr. Gaffney enough, and as parents appreciate knowing our son was in great hands during the process.

I fell down the stairs and broke my wrist in many places. I needed a plate in my wrist. Dr Gaffney was kind and explained everything so I could understand it. Though I had never had surgery before I was not afraid going into surgery. I went into the office early in the week and had surgery that Friday. His staff is wonderful as well.

Dr. Gaffney is knowledgeable and kind. I took my father to him with concern over an old finger injury. Dr. Gaffney’s consultation was thorough and my dad left feeling comfortable with the course of treatment.
