We have so many positive things to say about Dr. Gaffney.
Our 6-yr old son cut his left index finger. It was two weeks later before we found out his tendon was torn and he couldn't move the top of his finger. We saw a specialist in Lincoln (our hometown) but he had only done one surgery on a child his age and was not very optimistic about the process. Something didn't sit right with my wife and I, so we decided to get a second opinion.
Dr. Gaffney was recommended to us, and we were able to get in the next day. Although there were risks involved with the surgery, he was still optimistic that we could get to a final result of movement back in the top of his finger. His bedside manner was wonderful, you could tell he really cared about the best for our son and wanted to best for all of us, taking his time to walk through the process and answer any questions/concerns we had.
We were able to have surgery two days later, and it went great. My wife was in tears after surgery because of how happy she was that we found Dr. Gaffney and that he took such good care of our son. When starting PT in Lincoln the therapist had mentioned he was impressed that Dr. Gaffney had used 8 stitches to connect the tendon, as most of the Lincoln doctors standard practice is only 4.
We can't recommend Dr. Gaffney enough, and as parents appreciate knowing our son was in great hands during the process.
