Impressive course, truly intermediate level with occasional advanced stuff (for me). I have a metric called mean time before pause (MTBP) for tutorial watching, occasional pauses are expected, but in general a pause every few seconds gets annoying quickly, and there are parts where I found myself really struggling with the pace. I did complete the first 2 bot projects and had a lot of fun and learned a ton. EEVEE has changed a ton recently, and so I'd recommend rolling back your version of Blender to 4.0 or earlier, otherwise you'll be struggling to create many of the visual effects. (Lenses, water, glass etc.). I didn't do this and thought I could wing it but eventually had to retreat and this caused me some headaches.

This was once again an impressive and very informative course. CG Boost does it again. It was fun learning some new hard surface modelling techniques to model 2 completely different robots with very unique and fun designs. Definitely recommend this course on your Blender journey.

In general, I really enjoyed the course. I definitely learned a lot of new stuff and expanded my knowledge about hard surface modeling and, surprisingly, also about rigging and animation. Throughout the course, Louis shows how to do many things in a way I would never think of doing them, so it's great. While watching, I noticed that a few times Louis says, for example, to scale something on the x-axis, while on video he does it on the y, though it's not much of a problem. The course is worth its price, and I think it's really cool that you included animation and rigging. It is easy to follow, and robots are fun to create.

I loved creating this robot! Louis' has a fun and quirky delivery that was reflected in the robot as I brought him to life. As the final steps of the course were completed and the character bounced off the screen with a life of its own, I couldn't believe I'd made this! Me, someone who hadn't even heard of Blender before the start of this year, made that - amazing! This course was a little more in-depth than I was used to, but the results speak for themselves. Stick with it; you'll learn so much, and it all comes together at the end. I'm now looking to make my next robot and keep developing these skills. Thanks, Louis, and all at CG Boost!

For anyone wondering, this course is an amazing first step into hard surface modeling, rigging, and animation. Louis is an amazing teacher, and the explanations are clear and easy to follow for an intermediate Blender user. Part 1 gets your feet wet and prepares you for diving headfirst into some complex rigging and fun animations in Part 2. Part 2’s Fish Bot is a challenging ride at points, but worth it. I’ve left this course with useful new workflows for compositing; I just need to practice more with my new rigging and animation skill set. Hugely inspiring course and teacher; highly recommended.

Ok this is the end of part one of the Robotic Planet series. Right now I am reviewing the Part 1 of the series and my thoughts about it.1)For mesh modeling and afterwards related to modeling, Part 1 only gets a 1 star.Reason; The topology on the mesh is a mess. No cleanup after booleaning, no proper teaching of topology. Just booling the shit out of the mesh and leaving it like this. This has caused some issues which I had to solve later on.2) No UV mapping- To be honest I really was shocked to see that there was no UV mapping of the asset. Just smashing the texture on top of it and hoping it would work to some degree.3) Extensive Node texturing- This part was good but also overwhelming for me. Lots of nodes and I could just keep maybe a quarter of them in my head. Of course it's not the fault of the tutor that I can't hold it in my memory but there were lots of nodes to use which I asked myself later on if it really was so necessary. There are
