Great course, if you're looking for something that really touches on almost all aspects of pre-vis that you'll learn quite a bit. The instructions are clear enough that a studious beginner would be able to pick this up, and even a blender veteran would also learn a thing or two. Fantastic course!

What a wonderful course this has been, and I am so grateful to have been a part of the Beta Testing team. Louis is a wonderful and passionate teacher with so much knowledge. I learned so many new things and new approaches to things I was already very familiar with, like modeling. Some super cool hacks, my favorite being able to set up a Cycles and Eevee material that will respond accordingly to whichever way you decide to render. A new appreciation of Eevee, I think this project works wonderfully in Eevee and I have up until now always only worked in Cycles. What I will say is that during Fish Bot, Chapter 10 kicked my butt. This was my first foray into animation and rigging, and while I loved it, it was easy to screw things up. I found myself having to go back and stop and pause every step to make sure I had everything correctly selected, and I still broke it many times, and my attempts to fix things did not work because of my general lack of knowledge regarding armature and rigging. Alexander in the community, helped me tremendously work through things, even fixing my broken files a few times, if it had not been for him, I honestly think I would have thrown the towel in. I loved it though, learned so much, and will now continue to play with animating things, now that I have a base knowledge of rigging. Thank you so much Louis, Zach and Alex and all the other members of the Beta Testing team who supported me.

Wow, what an amazing course. I feel that this course increased my knowledge of Blender in all areas. This course teaches you a workflow that will allow you to make all kinds of characters, animate them and create animations that have quality and good composition. What I learned in this course will definitely be a guide for all my future projects. Having learned the fundamentals of blender through the Launch Pad course and cubic worlds course, this is a course that definitely takes all the fundamentals learned in those courses and improves them in all areas. What I liked: I like that the course covers all areas of Blender: modeling, rigging, shading, animation, GeoNodes, compositing, lighting, video processing. It seemed to me that the course manages to teach advanced techniques but keeping the videos short, that makes the experience more enjoyable. The projects are very cool and something worth showing off proudly. What I did not like: The truth is that the course is very well-prepared and the instructor has a very understandable way of explaining, but the only thing I felt is that despite perhaps not being a specialized course in shading, I felt that when preparing the materials there was not a very good explanation of the "why" use of each node, I feel that I just copied what I saw on the screen more than to understand what I was doing, but I can understand how this could be a topic beyond the main theme of the course that is hard surface modeling, but other than that perfect!! I give it 5 stars out of 5!!!

Thank you CG Boost and Louis for creating this course! I really enjoy the course; the results are cute, and Louis's teaching is so lively! I now feel more confident in hard surface modeling! Plus, the course is so comprehensive that it covers the whole production process, from modelling to final compositing, which gives me a complete overview of the workflow involved.

The first robot still assumes a basic grasp of Blender, but it is still a relatively gentle progression. The second robot quickly ramps up the difficulty and is definitely an "intermediate"-level course. This course introduced me to a number of new workflows for hard surface modeling and numerous little tips along the way. I particularly liked the animation portions, which draw from classic animation techniques that were well explained and really brought the robots to life. The course narration by Louis is engaging and easy to understand. I recommend this course for someone looking to get into hard surface modeling, learn more about animation, and make EEVEE look really good!
