The RenoFi product gave me the exact level of flexibility I was looking for when building my home. They offer construction financing that to my knowledge is not available anywhere else in the market. They guided us through the process with the lender and were an advocate for us as homeowner with the GC. The RenoFi loan product augmented our custom home building experience by giving us the flexibility to adapt and pivot as issues arose during our project. I was able to make changes along that way that kept us on track in delivering our dream home and it would not have been possible with a more traditional construction loan. This was a large investment for our family. In addition to contributing to our getting the home we sought by renovating, I was able to create more value long term with this loan product than had I used other construction financing options. The people at RenoFi are good people that have your interest in mind and you will not be disappointed in choosing them for your project.

We contacted Renofi after we started the renovation. Expenses went beyond our expectations. Then COVID hit. There was no way we could finish the renovations. No where in the world you can get a loan that monthly payments this low. Renofi has some GREAT people that made the process real easy for us. Thank you Renofi! We completed a HUGE renovation of our home, and it was made possible because of Renofi. We purchased our house at half the value it is worth post renovation. Because of this, it was very difficult to get a loan for the amount of money we needed - enter Renofi -- Renofi offers loans that are based on the post-renovation value of your home. Working through a home transformation/renovation project can be stressful and challenging, and financing the project can sometimes be the most difficult part. We certainly got to a point where we weren't sure there was a solution on the market that fit our needs. The RenoFi Loan was the perfect option for our renovation. Not being forced to refinance our first mortgage was a huge plus with the low rate we already had locked in. The loan rate was super low, the fees were minimal and the entire process was easy once we had our renovation plans finalized. Our contractor was thrilled that they didn't have to be involved in the process like they would with a typical construction loan. Our reno is underway now so I'm attaching some pics.

Overall, we applied for a loan and were accepted. The process was long, burdensome and needed several resubmissions of paperwork. If there were another way, I would have used it.

Process to get a HELOC started was smooth. But it took a long time to finally close because RenoFi is a referral service so the 45 day process starts once they transfer you to a lender.

RenoFi made the process as easy as possible for the most part. Their customer service is very responsive. I would definitely recommend their service for those who lack the equity in their home to complete major renovations. We had only been in our home for two years and they made it possible to have our basement completely finished.
If possible, I would have liked to have RenoFi work more closely with the FCU they set us up with. Once they handed us off to the FCU, the communication with the FCU was not as good as it was with RenoFi, and if RenoFi could remain more involved in that part of the process it would be more reassuring as a consumer. I would have also preferred a bank/FCU more local to us, so hopefully RenoFi can continue to partner with more banks/FCUs in the future.
Again, overall I definitely would recommend RenoFi to others.

The initial process is mainly painless. The issue is getting someone to respond to you if you have questions or problems. There was an issue with the close amount from the lender and the requested amount during the application. I have been unable to get anyone from RenoFi to call me back on the phone. Despite numerous requests for a phone call in writing for a few months. As long as you don't need to speak with someone, this is a good service.
