I have a small non-profit that creates music discs for our care-receivers. Much of the music is public domain, but for those piece we include that are not, Easy Song is a great help. If you record your own renditions of other artist's songs, (cover songs), you must pay "royalties" for that privilege. It is the right and just thing to do. Whether producing a CD or publishing it on a streaming platform or Youtube just do it! "EASY SONG" indeed makes it quite "easy to do". I have been using them to license my covers for about 8 years, producing over a dozen albums. They are great to work with. It always makes me feel good that I have paid monetary tribute and verbal credit to other artists to whom I respect enough to perform and record my interpretations of their creations.

At the age of 62, never having any music experiences , I recorded my first music video and wanted to load it on Youtube. I was introduced to Easy Song and despite being a dinosaur and not knowing how to approach anything whatsoever that is related to modern technology, I managed to navigate myself in the EASY ! EasySong website and had the very good fortune of being looked after by Mr Joe Jacob. He was friendly and patient and was very thorough. He guided me on how much to offer to obtain the syncing right to the song” I just died in your arms tonight’ by Cutting Crew. He explained the process in details and made no misleading promises.
Within just days, he came back with a surprise to say that I got the permission to use the song with my video WITHOUT charge.
There would be NO way otherwise for me to know any of this and get things done LEGALLY as it is my first time.
Just as important as getting a ‘ YES’ answer, it is ALSO important to get a ‘ NO answer.
I had wanted to get the syncing rights to use another song before knowing Easy Song and had reached out to EVERY avenue possible. I did not get a ‘ Yes’ nor a ‘No’ answer. When Mr Jacob asked if he could help with another song, I explained to him the situation.
He reached out to the copyright owners and within days, the answer was a CLEAR NO. But that did not matter. What mattered was he gave me closure and I could move on . And that is important. To be able to move on.
Thank you to the very kind and helpful Mr Joe Jacob and thank you Easy Song. The moment I have the funds saved to do my next music video which is a ‘WHEN’ AND not an ‘if’ I will be reaching out to Mr Jacob for his guidance.

Being an independent recording artist, I've used Harry Fox in the past. However, like a lot of companies, they're so big that getting in touch with someone for help is a big problem. Easy Song still gives a phone number for questions and they actually answer the phone immediately, or at least that was my experience. With their help over the phone, I got my questions answered and got three tunes (covers) licensed for my latest project. All this took about 15 minutes. I'll be working with Easy Song again on future projects.
