They were able to obtain the synch license but at an astronomical cost. I had permission from both songwriters to release my song, yet Easy Song interjected themselves and created a mess. Easy song representative never told Universal or Blue Water I had express permission from both songwriters (one of the writers also played on my track), thus they tried to penalize me with a yearly synch rate of $1500, exceeding any normal rate. I had to personally email the President of BlueWater to get the rate reduced. That would be $15000 over a decade for a COVER SONG, excluding Easy Songs commission (30%!) and fees = $19,500. Even on my most recent inquiry, the representative wants to start an offer for $500 per year for the synch license. The offer should be the minimum $250 because no one is singing these songs. The Easy Song Rep insinuated I couldn’t afford the license fees, when that’s far from it. Why would I want to commit $20k over the next decade towards license fees? No more cover songs!
If you are an artist, do your due diligence when dealing with this company, it will be in your own best interest.

I've been using Easy Song for licensing and copyright now for nearly a year. Responsiveness is very prompt. You can talk with a real person who is knowledgeable about these matters. They are patient and eager to help. I have needed special licensing for a few of my songs. Doing special licensing myself would be a nightmare. ES knows exactly how to proceed with these processes. Make music. Let ES to this time-consuming stuff for you. Fees are reasonable. They offer a Seal of Authenticity you can publish with your recordings that advises the listener your product is legal and not a ripoff. Occasionally, a rights holder will demand licensing through another entity, otherwise, ES can process all of your licensing needs. For copyrighting it is a smooth and rapid process. ES shall remain my go-to-first entity for these matters. I highly recommend them to you who is reading my review.

I had to register/license a cover song for my new 12 track record. So, I needed a license for physical CDs and for downloads. The process was efficient and prompt. I had tried to do the same with another agency, but ended up stonewalled and frustrated. Bottom line is, choose Easy Song for licensing of a cover song. Stay away from other agencies that run you through the mill for the same simple task. Price is very reasonable as well.

As Indie Filmmakers, our team found it insanely frustrating attempting to secure music licensing from recognized artists. We actually gave up then a fellow filmmaker suggested we give it one last shot with Easy Song. To this day, we have no idea how they secured the rights for every single song on our “wishlist “ but kudos to them and wonderful for us. Their prices are more than reasonable and yes, we will be using them on every single project in the future. Save yourself many, many hours of fruitless labor and just turn over the job to them. You won’t regret it.

I have a small non-profit that creates music discs for our care-receivers. Much of the music is public domain, but for those piece we include that are not, Easy Song is a great help. Easy Song has helped us comply with the legalities from the first disc of several years ago, and continues to assist us in our good purpose today by doing heavy lifting of research and acquiring the needed licensing and permissions.

If you record your own renditions of other artist's songs, (cover songs), you must pay "royalties" for that privilege. It is the right and just thing to do. Whether producing a CD or publishing it on a streaming platform or Youtube just do it! "EASY SONG" indeed makes it quite "easy to do". I have been using them to license my covers for about 8 years, producing over a dozen albums. They are great to work with. It always makes me feel good that I have paid monetary tribute and verbal credit to other artists to whom I respect enough to perform and record my interpretations of their creations.
