After sustaining a brutal accident. Two years in 5 different hospitals across Europe, brain surgery, a six month coma a diagnosis of hodgekins lymphoma, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I found myself at the foot of the rehabilitation mountain.
I wandered into Trek Wilmslow where the staff saw the very obvious and lasting effects of a huge avalanche and 460foot fall from an Alpine cliff.
My first cycling experience was with the local disabled cycling club at Woodbank park. I managed 1 lap of a 400m track on a trike. I was hooked.
Trek took me under their wing, providing me with a ALR checkpoint and tireless mechanical support.
Since leaving hospital I’ve now cycled the same distance as 1.5 times around the equator and average 12000km a year.
Thanks Trek Wilmslow.
