What a great team at Grosse Pointe! Henry, Lee, Kyle & Steve!
I am actually having to deal with a setback due to TQ not owning up to their HPR50 motors producing a grinding noise due to a defect where a clutch partially engages and TQ just dismissing this issue as a non problematic one. If you google “Trek Fuel Exe grinding noise” you will see how many more individuals are dealing with this annoying manufacturing defect which makes the quietest bike title pretty ironic.
Trek Stores have been amazing in trying to resolve this issue. I had to return the first bike I bought and when the TQ motor performed well, it is such a beautiful bike to have but the grinding noise became too loud to tolerate.
Grosse Pointe stepped in with a new bike and went above and beyond. Supreme customer service, they let me know to ride this bike for a year, and if the noise comes back they will take it back, no questions asked. If that isn’t engaging a customer for life, I am not sure what is! Hopefully this time around the bike runs well and I can pass it on to my kids!!
It was a little disappointing that Trek paint jobs on these bikes are not all the way up there. My last bike had remanants of running paint and this bike has two big paint chips on the rear part of the frame. I was given heads up by the store but Trek should paint and pack their bikes better so they are nicer out of the box.
