Buying a vehicle has never been something I particularly enjoy, but Borgman Mazda completely changed my perspective.
Before choosing Borgman Mazda, I spent the better part of two days and roughly eight hours on the phone with Mazda dealerships across Michigan. From my very first conversation, Jon Harwood stood out. No one else was as easy to work with, as forthright, or as transparent. He listened to what I wanted, respected the fact that I had already done my research, and focused on making the buying process simple instead of trying to sell me something different.
Business Manager Matt Cameron was equally great to work with. He made the paperwork process smooth, answered my questions clearly, and was transparent throughout the experience.
One of the things I appreciated most was how willing the team was to work with me over the phone before I ever arrived. We discussed the details, answered questions, and had nearly all of the documentation prepared in advance. As a result, my time at the dealership—from walking in to driving away in my new CX-90—was less than 75 minutes. They made the entire process efficient without ever making it feel rushed.
What impressed me even more was the service after the sale. When I reported a minor warranty-related concern, Jon personally reached out to me over the weekend. The issue wasn’t urgent, and I told him I was more than happy to talk on Monday or Tuesday, but I genuinely appreciated the sense of urgency he showed and his willingness to address my concern right away. That level of ownership and customer care is rare in my experience.
While Borgman Mazda wasn’t the absolute lowest quote I received, they delivered the best overall value. The transparency, responsiveness, respect for my time, and exceptional customer service made the decision an easy one. Looking back, I’d make the same choice again without hesitation.
I also believe being a family-run dealership makes a difference. Throughout my experience—and especially in the follow-up after the sale—I consistently felt that relationships and customer satisfaction mattered more than simply completing a transaction. That wasn’t something they advertised; it was something I experienced.
There was never any pressure—just honest communication, respect for my time, and a genuine commitment to making sure I had a great experience before, during, and after the purchase.
