Should have done it years ago.
I have recently signed up for the 12 week program and loving the content provided. I’ve been an intermediate surfer for over 20 years now. I started in my late 20s without ever really having been taught how to surf. Just by watching mates and pouring over magazines (it was the 80s) was the way we learned. I realised that I really didn’t know anything about the theory or techniques of surfing properly and was the classic “mid-wave warrior” - charging down the line, doing very little and getting further and further away from the pocket. I’m now 56 years old and enjoying the journey of learning how to surf properly using the OMBE method.
Highly recommended even for those who’ve been surfing for many years.

I found out about OMBE in 2021 & thought that I would give it a try because I was new to the sport of surfing and still finding my feet. I knew that it would be difficult to get to the beach with restrictions/lockdowns. But within this search/company I have been fortunate to have found a group of great mentors.
There is a constant flow of information across multiple formats. A real sense of togetherness in a wide spread but close knit community who take time and care for what one another are doing. The content is not restricted to in ocean practice and uses quality metaphors to emphasise how you should feel. The staff are a pleasure and most importantly, I am not feeling judged due to my green/short history with the sport.
The Surf Smart program has been worth it and I am able to download all the content onto my phone or navigate via browser depending on my setup. There is always a feedback loop and a sense of growing together which will make this journey enjoyable; and picking up on the golden nuggets of information is a welcomed boost.
If you are thinking about it, I would recommend getting on board!

Absolute game changer and genius! I've lost count of the number of breakthrough moments I've had since starting the program, where I'm just thinking "No ways, that did not just happen". When you really get something, the feeling is unreal! And unforgettable. My surfing has improved more in the last couple months than since I began learning a few years ago, and I know this has saved me years and years - and I've only just began really applying everything. I don't think there is anything better you could do to start surfing with style and confidence than taking the OMBE program. Thank you Clayton, Ant, and the OMBE team for changing everything for me. I love surfing more than almost anything, and was really discouraged and frustrated until you showed me how easy it actually is when you have understanding. Now I just can't wait for more!
