Before renting with this company,make sure everything works good,because once you rent with them, if you asked something to get it fix they say it’s not the owners responsibility you have to check with them every little detail after renting the place.

I am a tenant at one of their properties. Being that it's an old house, we have had a handful of different issues since moving in. Not a single one of them has been resolved. Each time that we reach out, we get an attitude from the company and then they play telephone with all of their handymen. When someone finally comes out, they are always unprepared and seem to have no idea what the issue was. The communication within this company is frustrating from the outside and i'm sure even worse on the inside. We had a major plumbing issue and they sent two guys out who then proceeded to laugh and make jokes in the basement for hours before telling us they were unable to do anything that day. They had to call a plumber. (shouldn't a plumber have been sent out to begin with?) We recently had something else break and they came to "fix" it but it's still falling apart. Every single thing we have had an issue with is still an issue. As a tenant i do not recommend renting through this company.

This is a scam! Darla, Jeremy, and the entire team are a nightmare to work with. My husband and I rented our home through them and during every step we were met with cruelty and intimidation. After we terminated the agreement, we found out our tenant had moved into a completely dirty home. Turns out after paying Darla nearly $500 for a cleaning fee, they had pocketed the money and NOT cleaned the home.

I appreciate that you replied (owner), but your response only reinforces the concerns I raised. Professionalism and clear communication are essential in property management, and unfortunately, my experience with your team fell far short. I hope future interactions with tenants are handled with the respect they deserve. Like I said I spoke to Jennifer , Valeria , Eunice all poor communication. I did ask about the unit again being that I never heard back and it’s was still being posted online. Thanks

I paid the application fee, was initially told I was not approved, and then later was told by multiple different people that I was approved. Then said I needed a cosigner to I didn’t. There was no clear communication, no official emails, and no lease links sent—only scattered text messages from different individuals. The process felt disorganized and unprofessional. I never received proper documentation or consistent information, yet my application fee was still taken. I expected transparent communication and a structured process, but that was not my experience. I would strongly encourage better communication and clearer procedures for future applicants.

This rental company lied about when they were viewing one of their houses and screwed me and my roommates over. They told my roommates and I that they weren’t scheduling tours for a property until 10/3, we scheduled for 10/4 on 8/25 so over a month in advance, and we didn’t pursue other housing options because we were waiting and so excited to tour this place. We were recently informed that the house has already been rented even though the company told us they weren’t showing it for several more days. This is very upsetting to all 3 of us. We recommend choosing another rental company that doesn’t lie about when properties are becoming available so you have an honest opportunity to apply.

They DO NOT advertise all costs and do not tell you the upfront costs until they have already run your screenings with a hard hit to your credit, these surprise costs end up being excessive and they need to disclose these costs in their advertisements.

Our recent experience at Rent Portland Homes Darla Andrew's Office has been so poor. It has now been over a week that we do not have a working dryer or washer and the management team simply tells you that they have 31 days to remedy the issue!

If you value timely maintenance, clear communication, or simply working appliances, think twice before moving in to the properties that the Rent Portland Homes Darla Andrew's Office manages. Why? It has now been over a week without a dryer or washer, and the laundry is piling up. What’s worse than a broken appliance? A management team that hides behind a 31-day legal window instead of showing basic courtesy and urgency.
