WOWFinally, a fret crowning file that actually works as advertised!I've been looking for a fret crowning tool that actually works for over 2-years, and all that I came up with were expensive files that needed to be used with such care that I might as well just uses a regular straight file. Unlike every other tool I've tried over that 2-year period, the FretGuru Dagger 2.0 Actually: Doesn't mark my fretboards, Leaves a near ready-to-buff finish behind (no coarse grooves to toil over), Leaves a little, tiny strip of space on the top of my frets, like it's supposed to, each and every time...Do I love the FretGuru Dagger 2.0... What do you think?BTW the answer is YES!Anthony

The Dagger is a high-quality and practically foolproof tool. Bernie's a cool guy and the shipping to Canada was very quick. 10/10.

I recently purchased the Fret Gurr Dagger 2.0 from Amazon, but didn’t immediately realize Amazon had sent a used one! A few months went by…After some correspondence with Bernie Tusko, a brand new Dagger showed up at my home! Now, what company does that? I should’ve returned it sooner, but Bernie went out of his way to get me a new one, and it works awesome. I’m forever a fan, and customer-

I've had a dagger 2 for about 3 years and it works great and still does after a lot of refrets and fret stones. I can highly recommend it (I'm a retired guitar maker repairer 50 years under my belt) This files as good if not better than my old german files and funily enough you can use both edges with thin and wide fretwire. Only improvement could be some of that liquid plastic on the handle to make it more comfortable (I used some gaffa tape)CheersAndrew

My only regret in purchasing Bernie's Fret Dagger and Gauge is I didn't purchase the Fret File and the leveling blocks before I moved back to the Philippines. I set up my USA guitars before I left and am now working on my three Philippine purchased guitars; a Tompson Strat copy, and two guitars from RJ Jacinto's Guitar store, (RJ Guitars), one a solid body electric acoustic and the other a solid top nylon electric acoustic. Guitars here in the Philippines are dirt cheap, compared to the US, except of course for the name brands, like Taylor, Gibson, etc. which are about the same price as the US. Anyway, Bernie's tools are the BOMB! I'm a retired 73 year old nuclear engineer, guitar newbie, but I love to tinker, and Bernie's tools make the work so easy and enjoyable. It's nice to have good tools to improve the build of a guitar. I've found that even the best guitars have some bugs that slip through QC. For instance my Fender Tele had rough edges on the frets. Bernie to the rescue. Best

An amazing tool. I bought the Fretguru 2.0 Dagger, and it's so intuitive to use. I'd go as far to say that it's almost foolproof. The high quality workmanship that's gone into it during the manufacturing process is evident. I'd happily re-order from Bernie & Co again, in fact, I'm planning to make the Fret-end file my next purchase from Fretguru.

Great file! I’m well impressed Had a level job that resulted in wide flats on many frets & was dreaded crowning them. Fretguru works great, as sharp as any costing twice as much & way more comfortable! Refreshing these days Johnny RenoPs I used a whetstone on one side of the handle and it makes a great fret rock

I have been struggling with a mid-priced crowning file I bought a couple of months ago. I never once got that thin, clean sharpie line down the center of the fret. It seemed to be chewing up the top of the frets and making a mess in general. I couldn't understand why I couldn't master such a simple task. Anyway, I ordered a Fret Dagger and it arrived this morning. Within a couple of hours I had two necks with nice, clean perfectly crowned frets. I just finished working the neck and decided to come straight to the laptop and post a five-star review. Great product, especially for the price. Will be ordering more Fret Guru tools in the future.

Precision in every way with the tools I've purchased from FretGuru.1) Dagger 2.0 crown file2) fret end file I have many vintage and modern tools and if there is one thing that I have learned is to buy top quality tools. Saves time and money if you buy quality tools as they will last forever.

I did an A-B test of the Dagger 2 against an expensive diamond crowning file from a well known luthier supplier. The Fretguru tool came out well in front - nice, accurate no-chatter crowning...Highly recommended.

The first Fretguru tool I bought was the dagger 2.0. I wanted to attempt leveling frets on a kit guitar I made for my son. At the time I had also purchased an inexpensive notched straight edge on Amazon. Out of frustration how bad that was I sent an email to Bernie asking advice. Bernie was so polite and left me a long message detailing how we working a notched straight edge but wasn't selling any at Fretguru yet. He recommended another brand that I bought and it was great. I also need a leveling beam which I for the 16" version from fretguru. Just the way the beam is packaged was top notch. Every order you get from fretguru you receive a letter from Bernie detailing how to care for the tool and how to maximize its use. At the end Bernie leaves his cell number. This shows me that Fretguru is the real deal your getting top notch quality products that are not cheaply made in China. Every tool they sell made with many many steps to ensure perfection. I highly recommend Fretguru tools!

The FretGuru 2 is an excellent setup and evaluation gauge. It cost less than the comparable item from S***M** and has features and quality the S***M** item lacks. I initially bought a S***M** setup gauge and after a short time it began to corrode. The FretGuru 2 features an excellent black powder coating that should prevent this.

Started as a luthier during the pandemic because my normal tech was backlogged 3 months. First tools I bought were a FretGuru 21" beam and the Dagger 1.0 file. Original Dagger file was fantastic and the Dagger 2.0 was better! Has allowed me to create consistent, repeatable results for my own guitars (10 ) and for my clients. Bernie's tools have been the foundation of me building my own guitars and building my business, saving me thousands of $ over the past 2 yrs (and making me quite a bit of $ as well)!Had some questions about the new Diamond Dagger file and I called Bernie - he called me back same day and answered all of my questions! Customer Service is second to none, and I'm a FretGuru customer for life!Dave RobertsRR CustomsTrabuco Cyn, CA

The FretGuru tool is a must have - so much easier to get an accurate measurement than the stainless steel 6" machinest ruler I've been using. As a company they are also 5 star - Bernie promptly answered my email and issued a credit to fix a mistake on the quantity I ordered. Thanks!!!

When I received this sanding beam I immediately checked both sides to see if it meets precision flatness as stated. I used my granite surface plate (Grade A Flat to .00005) to verify the beam...it mets or exceeds specs, which FretGuru specs at .00015" accuracy. It is well built and solid. Bernie sent a nice thank you for purchasing and a care instructions for using PSA sandpaper with methods for removing the adhesive.I plan to use this beam to level fret my guitars as well as when I replace the frets with SS ones. I have no doubt this beam will meet my needs!PS. I got the longest one at 24" so that all my frets will be under sandpaper as I level guitar necks.
