The fact of the matter is that there are few things you want to do less right now than read reviews for a service such as this or have to call one. I'm sorry you're reading this and I'm sorry to be in the position where I now have enough knowledge to write about it. But I'm not sorry in a way, because I also know enough now to tell you that you're in professional and friendly hands of a family-owned business. This is not the kind of thing you want left to chance and it's also not the kind of situation where you want to be second-guessing whether or not you were treated well.
That's exactly the reason you go to a local independent business; they are a part of the community and understand the nuances not just of your problem but of your environment. They know not just how to deal with your current problem but the preventive measures to implement so this doesn't happen again.
Here's my experience. I had a mouse. In my house. Actually in my wall. Just one though. I saw him before, we had words together and when he refused to leave, I thought I took care of it with Home Depot products. But he returned. Or maybe his angry uncle did, I'll never know. It was enough for me to decide to make calls.
Critter Catchers was on it, same day, despite really awful weather that day. But more than that, they were up front about the costs...over the phone. There were no surprises...financially anyway. But they also educated me, in a lot of ways.
For example, I learned that you never have "a" mouse. I learned this in a deeply sad way. The young man who came out was totally professional, a genuinely nice guy, and explained everything to me. There are upgrades to the service that you are told about during the treatment but it's neither an "upsell" or a hard sell. In my case it was, "Sorry, you really really don't have one mouse and yes this treatment will deal with it but not forever and seriously, you really thought it was just one who built all these nests?" Apparently, I'm good at believing my own lies.
Anyway. We got additional traps and they were baited and strategically placed. I understood why they were needed and understood the significant damage that would come if I did not take action now. So we did and there are no sounds, trails, or anything else.
Best part? Good people. Well, good people who kill mice. My kind of good people. Call them. I doubt they are the cheapest. I do not doubt they are the friendliest, the most patient, the most thorough, and the best value overall.
