My son’s road bike had a punctured tyre yesterday and as the bike shop which we usually go to was closed, we decided to go to Trek for the fix. (My son’s bike is not a Trek bike, by the way). The service was excellent. Not only did the service staff explain the reason for the puncture, he also gave good advice to my son about pumping the tyres before every ride (and reminding him to out on a helmet whenever he is on the road.) He recommended getting a pump with a pressure gauge if we didn’t have one, but not once was he pushy about it. I had the impression that Trek would be an expensive place to fix a bike given the brandname but I was wrong. The charges for the fix were very reasonable and the value-added service was worth more than anything. Something which our usual bike shop would not have offered, I believe. Trek would be our go-to place from now.
