I can't say enough good things about "New York Rental by Owner" and those who run the service. I started with their service two years ago after leaving another rental service that I was most unhappy with. First off "NY Rental By Owner " does not double dip -- therefor the owner is allowed to talk with the renter before sending out a contract. Their rates are reasonable and most of all you can contact them by one quick phone call if you have a listing problem. So far all renters that I have taken through them have been A I am thankful every rental season that another neighbor in The Finger Lakes introduced me to NewYork Rental by Owner!

I have had an out of state vacation rental for 10 years. I discovered NYRBO after becoming very unhappy with Homeaway's ever changing policies and restrictions. I want to be in control of my rentals and bookings and NYRBO accommodates that beautifully. It is also fantastic to be able to call them and speak with an owner and person who can make things happen. If you have a question or problem with Homeaway you can call their call center, where they will write up your question and get back with you-never! Melissa at NYRBO is always helpful and supportive, will go the extra mile for you- and take suggestions in return! I highly recommend them.

Awesome website to find superb NY vacation rentals AND avoid booking/service fees. Direct owner contact and the lowest direct rates. Say goodbye to the large gauging sites and hello to NYRBO!

We have had very good experience with NY Rental By Owner this year. Many rental requests and follow through to completion for those we could satisfy. Direct contact with potential renters is absolutely necessary and has worked well. Contact with site manager was also very helpful when we needed it. Thanks for a good season.

Not only are the guests able to contact us directly, but NYRBO are genuinely interested in helping us to grow our rentals. The site is great. We get numerous requests for our cottage. The web site is getting ever more popular and used by the renting public which is great for all of us who have cottages or other residences that we want to rent . The other great thing about New York Rental by Owner is the fee is a fixed reasonable amount. VRBO is very expensive and we are now receiving more requests through New York Rental than VRBO. We also try to switch the prospective renter to the New York rental site and they can avoid the fee charged by VRBO. The fees for the AIRBNB are also expensive for the renter and the owner. All in all, New York Rental by Owner is the place to be!!

In August 2020, we posted our Sunburst Cottage (located on Mirror Lake in Lake Placid New York) on New York Rental By Owner, LLC and on the same day received multiple inquiries. The inquiries have continued every day thereafter and the listings have been so effective that we have recommend the NYRBO site to my son Kevin and his Birches Cottage, also located in Lake Placid, to take advantage of the great referrals. Kevin plans to add his listing on or before the end of September.
