Was recommended this shop by a mate who said they had reliable workshop. Does not seem to be the case.
I called to ask for service availability and was told it's pretty busy. No worries, it's busy everywhere, every shop I've called has a wait list. All good. Get told there will be a spot the week of 17 Feb. Sounds good to me.
Don't hear anything back. Give them a call on 19 Feb. Sorry, you were meant to bring it on Monday. Not what I was told but guess it's just a miscommunication, fair enough, no stress. Ask for the next date available. 24 Feb. Excellent.
Bring the bike in on 24 Feb., run over it with the guy at the service counter. Simple enough, lvl. 2 service, replace the bar tape, fresh sealant for the tyres. Nothing particularly complicated. Get told it should take 2 days max.
Saturday rolls around, haven't heard anything. Head down, different guy at the service counter asks me when I got my quote. Tell him I never got a quote, he says that's odd and goes and has a look. Comes back very apologetic and tells me something's gotten lost and it should have been quoted straight away, service won't start until a quote is approved. Will have it sorted out.
Monday's a public holiday but still nothing on Tuesday. Go in on Wednesday. Bike's been sitting there for nine days, seven of which they were open for. Take the bike back, nothing's been done, hasn't been looked at.
Apparently I "got pretty close" to getting a service. Why'd you have me bring it in nine days ago? What does "pretty close" mean? Maybe I would have a quote by the end of the second week?
Absolute farce. Appalling customer service, no attempt at any sort of communication. Timelines provided were obviously way off and they were never going to inform me of that unless I went and asked myself. The two day turnaround claim was clearly dishonest. And, by the sounds of it, they weren't even on top of organising their own workshop. Overall shocking experience and I will not shop here for service or parts again, let alone a new bike when the time comes.
