I wanted to share a quick story about how the team at the Trek Northside location saved my weekend and earned a customer for life.
I was in a major crunch preparing for an out-of-town race. Usually, I keep my bike inside the SUV, but with the whole family coming along, the math just wasn’t adding up. I urgently started calling local shops looking for a high-quality rack suitable for a carbon frame. Most stores had stock, but nothing I’d trust with my bike.
When I called the Northside Trek, the person who answered was incredibly energetic and knowledgeable. I told them I was on my way, and an hour later, I walked in. I was met by a different sales associate who possessed that same high energy and expertise. We quickly found the rack I wanted, but then we hit a snag: they couldn’t find the key to unlock it from the display.
The associate headed to the back to find a solution. After about five minutes, I braced myself for the typical, "I’m so sorry, but..." Instead, he walked up and said, "Our first plan didn't work out, but I have another solution to get you on the road."
I walked out with exactly what I needed, ready for my race, but I also left with a bit of a shock. In an era where exceptional hospitality feels like a thing of the past, my experience today was nothing short of legendary. I later found out the person helping me was the Store Manager—I believe his name was Devon (though I hope I’m remembering that correctly!).
Because of Devon and the team's "get it done" attitude, I’ll be back for all my future purchases. Thank you for the help, and ride on!
