I really like the lessons I have to spend more than 10 minutes and I still am not great at any of the lessons. It seems I really have a hard time keeping time. But I haven’t really done the play along parts enough. I missed part of it by being sick then I burned my ring finger but pressed on then I sprained same finger. And three days ago a dog severely bit my middle finger all on my fret hand. But I pressed on and practiced anyway, even though I couldn’t put lots of pressure I decided to work on my timing. Through all of these excuses to quit the program still has me interested and I look forward to no practice every day.

Hi,I took the guitar by myself about 20yrs ago, kind of lear a little but just leave it there while looking at my 2 kids become very good at it, my oldest son (Also Jorge Jr.) is a great musician and one of my dreams for a couple of years now has been to play the guitar together someday I stumble into Tony's Youtube channel about 3 weeks ago and thought (This might be it.....) then decided to take the course and I'm about 1 week into it and can say that I'm 100% hooked again (almost playing the Blues Boogie at 95%), I just love the way you teach and make us keep engaged with all the content you wonderfuly deliver, BIG THANKS.

I picked up my first guitar in 1967... I can still smell the wood coming out of the cardboard box. The Beatles were still writing new songs. I went to my first lessons... the strings hurt...I quit. Fast forward to 2010 I decided it was time to try again...bought a new Yamaha...and went to my next-door neighbor who taught music... but work, family, and my motorcycle took all my free time. The guitar went in the corner. Now... everything is in place, a system that I can be committed to, dedicated to the daily effort...and 60 days in... the progress is slow for these 68-year-old fingers. The calluses have formed on the fingertips... I get the chords right half the time. My strumming sucks. My push-ons and pull-offs are awful. It's taking a lot longer than I want. But I know I have no music talent, just plenty of desire. And don't ask my singing is going. I have little rhythm. But finally, pieces are starting to work. Progress not perfection.

Did I really want spend money for an online course when I could just stream online and get similar information on the basics of guitar playing. When I joined TAC, I found a highly structured, well thought out course on guitar playing that is based on powerful educational principles. The thing I love most about TAC is Tony’s enthusiasm and personalityIt works best for someone like me, an elderly retired man who sees more of life in the rear view mirror than he does in front.I I have a few age related physical issues that hold me back a bit but I just do the best I can

I have been a member since early December 2025. Since I have made a few guitars, it was time to learn to play them. I was looking for guitar courses and found Tony's Acoustic Challenge. His teaching style is right up my alley. This is an enjoyable learning process, and it's a real plus that my wife enjoys hearing me practice.

I'm going on about 2 weeks into TAC and I find I can't stop grabbing my guitar and sitting in front of my computer to learn more. I've been playing "at" guitar for years, after putting my guitar away during the years I was raising my children. I started back several years ago with the prompting of my church's band, but found myself wanting to do so much more than the chords and strums I've picked up along the way, mostly learned from friends. WOW! There is so much more to unlock on the fretboard and I am just hungry to learn all that I was totally mystified about before now. Finally, the best way I can imagine to "dig in" and truly learn all the guitar can do!! Tony is a genius!

I joined TAC improve playing the guitar. The lessons have added a much needed encouragement and structure to my efforts. Working on rhythm playing for the last 4 years with limited improvement. These classes are making me work on multiple area's I have ignored or procrastinated to learn. The mental challenge and skill development, while challenging, are also rewarding when improvements are achieved. I really like having the lessons assigned. The group comments are awesome and encouraging.

I learned to play guitar back when The Beatles and James Taylor were major musical influences. I reached the point where I could play the chords needed for the songs I loved, but I never developed the skill or confidence to play comfortably around others. I also convinced myself that I just “wasn’t rhythmic,” and I let those two self-imposed limitations keep me from playing for nearly 45 years.Recently, I came across your engaging introductory video, and it sparked something in me — the belief that maybe I could learn to play with confidence and simply enjoy it. So I signed up and decided to begin again. It’s now been over 60 days of daily lessons, and I haven’t missed a single day. I genuinely look forward to each challenge and to seeing what you’ll help us accomplish next.I deeply appreciate your wisdom in not letting perfectionism or overcomplication get in the way of steady, systematic progress. You’ve made growth feel achievable — and enjoyable.

Hi Tony, For the first two or three lessons I've found them to be worth the time invested and the cost of the classes. However, I've not been able to continue the lessons because of medical issues with my thumbs. Arthritis. I'd like to continue if this problem ever becomes tolerable. Good classes!

I have been a TAC member for 8 weeks. I hadn't played guitar for over 50 years and decided to start playing again. The 2-3 years I played was entirely self-taught. I found a TAC video on the internet and played the free content. The approach appealed to me and the cost seemed reasonable, so I signed up for TAC and included Fretboard Wizard. I completed the 30 Days to Play and the 1 week of Guitar Routine which got me started. By now I have completed 4 weeks of the Daily Challenges and have started week 4 of Fretboard Wizard. I have found TAC to be very engaging, and I look forward to each week's challenges. Fretboard Wizard has taught me way more than I ever learned on my own and has been a big help in making sense of the fretboard and general music theory. I have not regretted my investment in TAC at all. I have found that TAC is so helpful and engaging that I usually play every day for more than an hour. I would recommend TAC for anyone interested in learning to play the guitar.

It's been about 30 years since I last picked up a guitar. Everything I knew then was from teaching myself. I learned basic chords, eventually bar chords, and also how to pick and strum. Now that I'm relearning, I thought it would beas good idea to see what I may have missed. So far, so good! I went through the lessons of the first two weeks in just one week. Doing so reminded me about the callouses! I did pick up a few things I didn't know and it has been fun, so I'm glad that I chose TAC to get back into it.

I have finished the 30 day and now onto the 5 day challenge. I am a 72 year old beginner and not progressing along as fast as I would like but I am progressing. Tony's encouragement and reminding me that repetition and small wins will get me there. Struggling with finger placement on a single string without buzzing the others, fingers are starting to toughen up. I always go over previous lessons to improve as well as going to a new one to keep learning new things. Waiting for the day I can play something that sounds decent....

I just completed the thirty day and 5 day programs. They were fantastic in the way that skills were layered on top and by the end of the week I could play something pretty cool. I must admit I am approaching the new phase with trepidation, but enthusiasm. Thank you!

More than 50 years ago I was playing the guitar but eventually gave it up. At the time I couldn't afford the lessons.I always wanted to start playing again. Now that I'm retired I have time to focus on learning again.I love the pace at which you teach. Bit size lessons that are easy to follow.

Got my 66 Hagstrom III back, reconditioned now, and have embarked on playing again for the first time in 50 years. Feels good, not all is lost, and I'm enjoying the program. I like the emphasis on keeping it moving, over achieving playing perfection (like that's a worry!). I agree that just playing guitar regularly will build the competence better and quicker than obsessing about a particular lesson. I'm also thinking about trying to figure out songs I've always liked down the road a bit, so I like your incremental building of our foundational skills in the context of playing a particular tune over a week of exercises. It's been an enjoyable challenge, proceeding at my own pace, with lots of little wins along the way.

I’ve tried and failed to learn the guitar at least twice in my life. The reason I joined TAC is because my daughter wanted a guitar for her birthday and she wanted she and I to learn together. After some research I chose TAC and though I’ve only just finished 30 days to play (it took me two months because I’ve been recovering from abdominal surgery to remove numerous tumors)feel that I’m already so far beyond where I had previously failed. My daughter and I can’t wait to get to the daily challenges!

I initially thought Tony’s acoustic was just another of the other, but when I tried the free challenge it made a difference right away. My guitarist has come a long long way in just two months. Thank you!!

Been a journey for sure: but as with any new skill the ups and downs are part of the journey. Am presently in the fingerpicking step and doing okay I believe. Biggest problem is the paralysis of analysis and following the prescribed formula. It DOES work as when I go back and review a previous challenge I find I have retained!

No question that Tony is an excellent teacher and very methodical in his approach. The lessons, tabulature, and practice play are extremely well done. Learned many techiques but did'nt master them yet but that's the next step. I do, however, wish that we could employ what we were taught by applying the techniques to popular some popular songs. I'm 82, so my definition of popular songs didn't line up with Tony's. Having said that, I will continue to explore and hopefully develop an ear for music and improve my guitar skills

Loving playing guitar with Tony. He's the best guitar teacher BY FAR that I've ever had - this is a great program and totally self paced. You can do it your way, and always with lots of encouragement. It's fun to see how others respond to the same challenges.

I'm not moving as fast as I'd like, but when i find a 'week' I seem to want to spend more time developing that week to really feel accomplished. To try a lesson with subpar results, come back later that day or next to show better, and then do it a third really works for me. I'd love it if Tony picked out 'if you are

I've dabbled around with a few online courses and I have to say after my first year with TAC that honestly this TAC course suits me very well. I love the process of working just outside your comfort zone, challenging yourself, not staying stuck on anything in an attempt to strive for perfection but rather keep moving on with new challenges. It works. When I return to something now that seemed almost unattainable before, I'm shocked at my progress. Tony is right...keep at it. Let him help you through your guitar paces and you'll surprise yourself eventually if not immediately.I do have a wish though.... I wish there was a part 2 that involved entire songs...instead of strictly lesson weeks. Maybe a section with entire songs at various levels from beginner onwards for us, because I have a bit of trouble stringing together everything I learn beyond the lesson itself and into real life playing. I don't know - maybe that'll come with time as well.
