Played bass the whole time I played in bands during the 80's in Minneapolis. That was fun!! Self taught and played with very good musicians. End of the 90's got to take on life. Music was always there, joined a choir 2009 to keep my mind in music.January 2026 Joined TAC and started as if I had never played before. It is THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE when it comes to learning about music and playing guitar. Looking forward to the rest of the years and all of the new things I will learn through TAC

I have been playing guitar for many years, but I was completely stuck at the first four frets of the guitar, but I was determined to step out of my comfort zone and I can believe how much better my playing has gotten since joining this program! I would and have already recommended it to many people, I love the teaching style, I love the weekly challenges and I just cannot say enough good things about it! I told I play at church, and I truly stepped out of my comfort zone and I could not be happier. I have always call my guitar my happy place and it is truly what I love to do!

Encouragement for my fellow Acoustic challenge members. I’ve now competed 495 sessions following Tony’s methodology -- almost 2 years! I just turned 75, and after thinking about really learning to play acoustic guitar, my research said Tony's Challenge was the way to do it -- cost effectively! And it has really worked! I highly recommend those of you that are just starting out try it for three months. I am actually playing songs - flat picking, finger picking and just playing chords while I sing. Most importantly I’m having a blast. Try it!!

I know I'm not alone in that one of the main obstacles I thought I faced in learning guitar from scratch was not being able to stick with it and make it a habit. After a little over two months, I have to say that I'm not only sticking with it, I'm bordering on obsession. And that is a good thing! I love practicing each day and I think it a lot about when I'm not. I give Tony and his approach, the practice material, and his manner of teaching, most of the credit for this. I'm very happy with TAC.I like the daily challenges and the skill courses, but it can be really hard to get it down sometimes, particularly chord transitions. There are frustrations (I'm looking at you F Major and barre chords). I know I have to be patient and remind myself that I am only two months into this, but I'm really have fun and know I'm getting better by the day.

Tony's Acoustic Challenge has so change the world of my guitar playing. I am on a 118 consecutive days streak. Now I haven't always been able to play the challenges well. A few were Greek to me. Some where a piece of cake. Today's challenge will take another cup of strong coffee to master putting this weeks lessons all into order. Yet every one of them were fun. I have and am learning so so much. Enjoying my mornings with Tony's daily challenges more so than the coffee. And that my friend is saying a lot. Thank you Tony

My First Impression of TACI am glad I found TAC. As a boy I had a guitar tutor who sat smoking trying to teach me to play Beatles songs on a guitar which had too high action, so I could not press the strings down enough to play it. This stopped me playing as the teacher only seemed to want money and did not try to help me. From my twenties until now I dabbled at playing with a properly set up Westfield guitar. Luckily I found you as my last hope of getting proficient at playing before I leave this world. I would not hesitate to recommend you as I find the courses good at helping me make small wins daily.I think it is best for older people who accept it takes consistent playing daily for years to make good progress, as with any instrument.

I came back to the guitar after a 10 year break. I wasn't brilliant back then. I have moved on more in 2 months that I did in years previously. I wish I had the course 10 years ago. I would have been awesome by now! However, I am getting there and having great fun. Just do it!

I am trying to incorporate TAC into my busy day. I read other comments and I find there are others with the same problem. I do like the program even though it is very challenging. My arthritic fingers don't want to cooperate sometimes, but I am determined to learn. It has always been my dream to play in front of people.

It took a little time for me to "get with the Tony program" and organize myself to understand the method, but I can honestly say it is working well and the approach makes sense. My gut tells me to stick with it and keep playing, learning, stretching my skills and understanding.

I’m 76 and have always envied people who can play an instrument, especially guitar. On retiring I became involved in MenShed, which is an international organisation set up to foster Mens mental wellbeing through meeting up and sharing experiences. One of our groups was to learn guitar, so a year ago I began. Unfortunately the tutor has had to withdraw and that placed me in limbo! I carried out searches to find an on-line course, and was bombarded with emails. However your offering fitted better with me as I was looking for a course that combined learning with fun. So far it too early to tell after only one week but I’m enjoying the 30 day challenge and having the days practice laid out. I had tried to formulate my on practice schedule but it was too structured. Tony, your clear instruction and positive attitude are infectious and I’m looking forward to the coming weeks. Thank you so much!

I picked up the guitar so long ago I forget when. I actually had enough songs under my belt to play at a small party. I was amazing when folks sat in front of me when I played "Dust in the Wind". But then life happened and I put it away. I was on the verge of sending it to a pawn shop when I saw Tony's ad. I started in January with the 30-day challenge and became hooked with Tony's philosophy "...just show up and give me 10 minutes." I completed the challenge in 9 days. I haven't turned back and enjoy every moment again. I just realized what the benchmark songs are about and I'm ready to record both "Wagon Wheel" and "Hotel California" for my own prosperity. I'm not sure I'll be posting them though.P.S. I also was looking at getting a new guitar, but I found out my Alvarez is now 43 years old. It took a little work setting it up, but I think it still sounds great. I may get a new guitar, but I'm keeping the Alvarez.

I am 65 and newly retired. I took guitar lessons when I was 50, but did not keep up with it. That is one of the reasons I was hesitant to invest in TAC. Surprisingly with being retired I still struggle with time. That is the reason I enjoy TAC, I can move at my own pace with plenty of fun challenges without feeling pushed. The instructions are clear and fun.

This the first time in years that I played 7 days in a row, and it did not feel like a "have to". It's early on, but I am encouraged so far.

It's been really great. I have been trying to keep up but we have parents with health issues on both sides which has made it a little hard to keep up. You think you wouldn't have an issue just setting aside 10 minutes but it has been a challenge. I will keep pushing forward because I really enjoy the lessons and how you break them down. Thanks for helping us want to be musicians.

I am almost two months in and I am falling in love with guitar again. I love the variety and the shortness of the lessons. I also appreciate Tony’s encouragement of just doing the surface layers of the lessons if we are beginners (which I am)

The TAC program is helping me tremendously. I am 65 and had no experience with reading music or actually playing the guitar. I am following the instructions daily to the best of my ability. I can hear and feel improvement and that is a great sign of progress! Thanks and I am sticking with it!

Two months in, I'm really enjoying TAC. I suppose the main thing is the structure to your lessons. Tony makes them fun, logical and suitable for beginners. The emphasis on good guitar behaviour, creating a daily 10-minute habit....these are all great. I wasn't sure how it would go at the start, but I'm glad to say I'm enjoying the experience and my guitar playing is coming on!

Tony’s challenge has been an incredible step in pushing me into FINALLY starting to practice and “play” guitar. A dream I always thought impossible. However… it’s actually happening! I am 69 and have attempted picking up a guitar several times since I was 13, but never stayed with it. It was always short lived within a week. I never really knew where to start. I even tried taking personal lessons last year (2025) for 6 weeks; and that was a bomb as well. This is the first time I have stayed with it … and love every time I pick up my guitar. Tony’s VERY encouraging “you can do it” teaching style, methodology of what to teach, how much to teach and when to teach it …. and finally the incorporation of psychology with “tiny habits” has created success ! I’m actually learning to play the guitar. Trust me, during the “30 day challenge” I can’t say I jumped in every day. However, it was pretty darn close and it took me a little longer. But I’m

I'm 73 and started TAC last September. My music experience was nill. I never in my entire life touched any musical instruments. So a few months before my 72 birthday I took guitar lessons but became frustrated with how things were going, just didn't want to hear what he was going to play at the next open mic on my dollar. But on his behalf he did teach me open chords, bar chords and to learn the notes of the fretboard, all good stuff but no songs, no strumming, no exercises, no posture, and no correct way to hold a pick. I happened to see some videos of Tony on youtube and decided to take the plunge and sign up for a year. I have learned so much more here in 6 months than the 11 months of lessons. TAC has been a great motivator for me, I learn, I can play some songs, I get to read what others are going thru on their guitar journey, this is a wonderful platform period. Now I meet with others once a week to play and I am truly enjoying my journey.

I spent 30 years on and off trying to chord along with songs as the urge hit me. Never did really learn to play. After seeing Tony's ad on FB, I figured I'm 63 might as well give it one last shot. I'm amazed at how quickly I'm learning to pick and navigate the fretboard. Tony's lessons are easy to tailor to my skill level (or lack thereof), and I find that I look forward to each day's new challenge!

Never played the guitar beyond a few open chords in highschool. Two months into TAC and my hands are getting stronger and my chords are getting clearer. I've loved how the fretboard is opening up to my understanding. Still have a long way to go, but the daily engagements are well worth the money.

I started TAC 2 months ago after years of trying to learn the guitar. Previous attempts have seen me get frustrated with my lack of progress, which in turn led me to put my guitar away and leave it alone for years on end. With TAC I find the structured learning and the daily challenges keep me interested. I can see progress in my playing, albeit slow. This time I am determined to keep going in the hope that one ay I will have the confidence to play infront of other people.

Very happy with my decision to join Tonys Acoustic Challenge.Today marks the end of Week One of my TAC Course '30 Days To Play' preparatory course. Step one, have a guitar that sounds good, looks good and makes you want to pick it up and play, so I purchased an Artist Guitar OMH250 with Mahogany top and changed to extra light Daddario XS strings - Tick!I am 64yo with the a bit of Osteo in the fingers, wrists and shoulders, so the left hand has some positional challenges. That said, I expect over time as I play more, my body will adapt and I will settle on a comfortable guitar hold position that whilst it may not be textbook, allows me to play the guitar. 100% enjoyable now the brain and fingers are starting to talk to one another!

I am absolutely enjoying this guitar journey. I was stuck in my learning and searched for a long time for something that resonated with me. I found it! I do appreciate the way the lessons are presented and developing the habit of practice. I'm looking forward to writing my own ditties. Progress of Perfection.

I worked around the internet building finger calus and doing some clean chord transitions. But it was not learning to play guitar as I was doing a monkey see monkey do. It led no where to really playing guitar. I had looked into TAC a few years back and saw that was learning, but I was to busy with life and my time was not my own. I am retired now and this class suits an adult or senior player that has more time available. I signed up and dedicated myself to a year of focused learning. The first week I improved drastically and although my playing was not perfect I was seeing alot of growth and was having fun when I had a small success. I had a lot of Yes! moments when something clicked and was saying it out loud to a empty room. That is a little crazy. I look forward each day to see what is going to be the next step and challenge. When I watch videos of people playing or teaching a song it is complete copy cat and not learning a foundation. Thanx Tony

I have been "dabbling" with the guitar for decades. I have tried various teaching tools. This is the first one that has really challenged me and inspired me to stay with it. I know that it's only been a couple of weeks but there is something different about this approach. I am still getting familiar and comfortable with the website. I am encouraged by the progress and look forward to the improvements ahead.

It is very cool to see how all the challenges fit together to build the song. This is the most excited I have been about playing in a while. And I am actually attempting skills I have seen other guitarists doing, but did not know how to get there. I was getting too comfortable just playing the same melody from a book over and over and strumming the same chords in the same pattern. This has really challenged me. The hard part is letting go and not trying to perfect the one song.
