I joined the beta course with beginner to intermediate skills in Blender, but I had limited understanding of compositing and very little experience with it. After reading about what the course would offer, I had certain expectations; however, it truly exceeded them. It feels as though Daniel has opened the door to a whole new "world of Blender." I am amazed at how many options there are to enhance results after rendering. The knowledge I have gained has changed the way I think about future projects, and I am excited to learn more - I haven't worked through all the existing chapters yet. That said, there is still much to learn, and the course was challenging at times. Before taking this course, I found using GeoNodes daunting and even tried to avoid it. However, step by step, I have come to realize that it is "just another thing" that requires a combination of knowledge and practice to make it a rewarding learning experience and truly master it - and this course makes that possible.

What a course to open up our minds! Before I enrolled, I had little or close to no knowledge and application of compositing on my scenes, and now, a lot of things start to fit and make much more sense! Compositing is not only about color grading and lens distortion. It is a whole new world of how to create things, how to optimize your project and workflow, and how to make things even prettier and more realistic! But before you do this course, I must encourage you to have at least an intermediate skill on Blender or even enroll on Launch Pad or Cubic Worlds by CG Boost because there you have tons of info about how to prepare scenes before the compositing stage (if your thing is related to 3D animation and games). That being said, it's a well-made and fun course to watch and learn a lot! Thanks, CG Boost for having me in once more!

I will start by saying I was a complete novice with the compositor. It was a mystery to me. Now I can say that I have a working knowledge of it, and I have learned a lot! This course is amazing, and taught by a very knowledgeable and capable instructor, Daniel Nees! Please look him up, he has an impressive resume! I really enjoyed learning this part of Blender. It was challenging and fun at the same time. Each chapter brought more and more exciting things to learn! I am not through the course yet, but I am learning more and more each day. Daniel presents each lesson with challenges and humor. He makes learning easy. I highly recommend this course to anyone wishing to expand their knowledge of Blender, especially the compositor. You won't be disappointed!

I started this course with some experience with Blender and a vague understanding (though no experience) of compositing. As I write this, I am halfway through the course and have gained an immense amount of knowledge. I have skills and understanding of how to use nodes and combine static images to create scenes, and I can apply those to an animation. There's still plenty more to learn! The lessons in this course are broken down into manageable sections. Your skills are progressively built, and the instructor, Daniel Nees, has a friendly, encouraging voice that makes you want to learn. If you only choose one course this year, make it this one. You won't be disappointed.

I think compositing is something that we should all learn at some point, no matter if you are a modeler, an animator or you like to create architecture or just clouds, the art of compositing and everything that it entails will always help your art, no matter what it is, to look much better. Daniel is also a great instructor for this topic and explains very clearly many of the concepts used in the course in addition to his practical experience, which is a very valuable resource for any artist who really works in his own field. Also, many of the tricks applied during the course give an understanding of a new structure for how to render your shots and what you should or should not render in a single shot, so we are talking about those experiences that are a shift in perspective.

This course is a total game-changer! 😮 A month ago, compositing nodes felt like rocket science. Now, and I’m only 2/3 through, I can fix node trees, set up compositing from scratch, and break scenes into render passes. I can even pull off combining all the layers together with amazing VFX and a cinematic look. Seriously, this is next-level insane! And the best part? I’m doing it all right in Blender. It honestly feels like a dream come true! 🤩
