I’m writing this review for the dog owners that fear taking their dog for a walk because of bite risk. My dog Chance had severe (and I mean severe) dog reactivity and moderate people reactivity. I couldn’t take him for a walk unless it was 6am or 10pm because I couldn’t control him. I was moving from a house to an apartment in Columbus with no backyard so getting him the proper training was a must. I went to Glass City K9 looking for a miracle and I found it. My dog went from having to be muzzled in all public settings (few and far between moments) to being able to walk around other dogs and people with very little reaction, mostly just a stare that I can get him out of within seconds. I will say I was super strict with my dog for the first two weeks, it was a lot of tough love but the respect transferred very quickly and now I can be a lot more lenient with him. I sent him to the three week board and train, it was well worth the money for me, the transformation I’ve seen with Chance is absolutely priceless. I am forever grateful for all of the trainers but specifically Hans. Hans was the main trainer for Chance. My dog not only loves and respects Hans, but the communication and follow up was top tier. He to this day, two months later, will answer any little questions promptly. I felt hopeless, I didn’t think I would ever have a well behaved dog, and now we are out in public everyday and he has a much more fulfilling life. The last thing I want to touch on is the e collar, I feared that it would make my dog more aggressive or hurt him. It did neither, think of it as a way to communicate with them. I communicate positive feedback at a low setting so he knows it’s not for just negative reinforcement to prevent aggressive behavior as I was told, and I go higher in high stimulating environments but am able to bring it back down within seconds. So here’s two pictures the first is really bad but he came in the first two days muzzled and incredibly reactive and now here he is off leash in public living his best life.
