This adventure had a great mix of sailing, observing wildlife, visiting cultural sites and hiking through forests. My grandson learned a lot and loved the experience.

The boat was wonderful--sitting on the bow watching the incredible world go by was a highlight. The entire trip was unforgettable.

Meeting the Haida Watchmen and hearing their views was an honor. The lodge and cabin on the ship were very comfortable, and the cuisine was top-notch both on land and at sea.

The blend of rainforests, marine life, Haida culture and history, varied ecosystems and rock formations was awe-inspiring. Our captain did a fantastic job and the ship was lovely. The exchanges with the Haida Watchmen were enriching.

Exploration of the forests, estuaries, tidal pools, beaches and inlets was illuminating. The wilderness nature of the experience and the stellar crew made this trip unforgettable.

The wet landings at Haida village sites, kayaking, photo opportunities, Zodiac excursions and cultural talks were great. Safety was a priority throughout. The ship and crew were fantastic!

On this adventure, we saw a wonderful variety of wildlife. Island visits and interacting with the Haida Watchmen were highlights. The beach cleanups were terrific, knowing we were making a small dent in a big challenge.

I loved the variety of activities on this adventure, from Zodiacs and rainforest hikes to Haida settlements. Safety was a priority, and the crew was vigilant. The Haida people, the islands, the sights and the marine life were phenomenal.

Our Expedition Leader was top notch in every category. She was extremely knowledgeable, always enthusiastic, went the extra mile and was always kind and pleasant. I cannot say enough fabulous things about her! The talented chef fixed terrific meals. He was always accommodating to our needs. He worked hard to ensure that lactose-free, vegetarian and gluten-free people got what they needed.

Each day was a new delightful adventure. Thank you for the many opportunities you provide to experience nature in special, remote areas. The field walks in the forest, Zodiac excursions and kayaking gave us ways to experience the wonders of the Haida Gwaii islands. The Island Solitude is a wonderful vessel with a skilled captain. The ship accommodations were very comfortable, and the private bathrooms were a plus. Our Expedition Leader’s knowledge of the environment and its inhabitants was astounding and matched by her enthusiasm for nature and its wonders. She brought a rare, unmatched element to the entire trip. She was informative, helpful and entertaining all at the same time. It truly made our experience one of a kind.

This trip totally exceeded my expectations. There was a great diversity of activities--I found kayaking and forest bathing particularly relaxing. All of the interactions with local people were a plus and greatly increased the specialness of the trip. The spiritual connection was palpable. Meals were also outstanding--the food was truly upscale.

We saw lots of fascinating marine wildlife! The ship was very comfortable, and it was great that each cabin had a bathroom. The upper deck area created a sense of community, and there was ample space in all areas of the boat for wildlife viewing. We had a phenomenal guide. Her knowledge of the natural world and how it interacted with the Haida people was impressive. Everyone was very safety conscious and helpful.

Haida Gwaii is a very special place. Viewing the five original Haida settlements was special. Searching for whales, bears, dolphins, sea lions and bald eagles was a highlight! Walking in the rain forests was fabulous. Our Expedition Leader was so passionate about nature and being our guide. It was an exciting and incredible experience with her.

I absolutely loved the kayaking opportunities, and the Zodiac outings were great fun. The experience of our captain allowed us to make the most of the weather and see all five Haida Watchmen sites, as well as whales and dolphins. The highlight of the trip for me was seeing Pacific white-sided dolphins leaping from the waves. Our guide was amazingly capable and knowledgeable--she made every aspect of the trip even better.
