I watched Tony's intro video, where folks would try and then "give up". Sad! Happened to me, too, even after taking a $100 lesson from a highly recommended teacher. Tony was a straight talker, he wants *all* his students to truly "get it", he breaks things down into the smallest chunks, then builds your confidence.
He must have been an engineer because everything is so well put together. The videos are perfectly produced - clear to see, manageable, encouraging. His "Fretboard Wizard" series distilled the essence on how (and why!) notes sound good together. I actually, truly, got chills down my spine when he announced "ok! let's create a song!". As empowering as it is to read music, or listen to a song to write it down, to create my own song? That was natural high - the juices flowed, and it's Tony that gives you the tools to build that house! Or Taj Mahal?! Yes, "hope to leave a few original songs to my kid & grandkids" as my legacy. What a cool thought ... that your songs could inspire future generations, or help them connect to you? Priceless.
I thought I was too late to the guitar - at 62 - nonsense! Tony's teaching, and forums. and live weekly/monthly sessions gave me a new passion that beautiful hunk of wood and metal. Before it was just a beautiful piece of furniture - now it's a whole life style. Hope to visit TAC member groups in my area this summer, too!
