I had my intake and first acupuncture appointment. I felt listened to and that Johanne was exceptionally knowledgeable. I am still learning about acupuncture and the conditions in which it is most applicable but I am excitement to embark on this at Harlem Chi. The actual office had a soothing and communal atmosphere.

Her techniques provide long term relief and healing. Not just temporary results. Also I received more needles than other locations. Perhaps it is more points are touched creating faster healing. I would recommend to all levels of pain and will go even without pain to maintain optimum levels of health.

An acupuncturist's education, vibe, and values is what sets one apart from another. Johanne is among a small number of Balance Method practitioners. I've looked in 4 major cities and she's the ONLY such practitioner that I've experienced who makes this godsend of a service affordable multiple times per week, and delivers it with tremendous joy and gratitude, which comes through the clinic space and everything she does.

Very impressed by the professional, caring attitude and knowledge of Johanne the acupuncturist.The place was somehow relaxing enough, even amid the construction right outside the building that I fell asleep. The problem I went to address was already noticeably better last night.

I have FQAD, a chronic iatrogenic illness that when insufficiently treated, destroys my quality of life. Over the years, I've sought help from multiple acupuncturists & other practitioners across 4 major cities. Johanne is the best of anywhere I've been, any discipline. How often I get treated by her makes or breaks my wellness, sometimes in one treatment: I've hobbled in on a cane or in a metaphorical straitjacket & I leave not needing the cane or the snazzy wardrobe addition. Highly recommend.

Joanne was thorough in her questions about my health history & symptoms. Her diagnostic skillfulness led her to my treatment plan after thoughtful consideration. I knew I was in good, smart, caring hands.
The treatment room is peaceful, open, airy. When I got out on the street afterwards, I noticed my energy was stronger. I felt more connected :)

The 1st. time i walkd in, i was in terrible chronic pain plus other conditions i’d been suffering for years. Lack of apetite, weight lose, low energy, stiffness. Johanne has treated me mostly for these symptoms. My recovery has been successful, my mind is alert, my attitude towards life is more tolerant & optimistic but the most recent benefit is that i was able to quit nicotine after 30 yrs & many attempts to give up. Excellent HERBALIST.Herbs have become part of my treatment. Very rewarding!!.
