I have been coming for acupuncture appts with Johanne for just over 1yr for infertility and overall well being treatment. She is extremely knowledgeable and thorough, I have learned a lot and have had positive results under her care. If you have never tried acupuncture but are considering it I would definitively recommend Johanne for your first experience.

I used to go way downtown to get acupuncture treatment for my pains. But the hassle made me stop going. I just happened to come to the building where Johanne has her practice and I decided to go in right away to check out the treatment. I was so delighted to by what I saw and experienced. I've lived with pain in my body for many years. No one should be in constant pain 24/7. Thanks to Johanne I have resumed my treatments and will eventually be pain-free without the hassles of traveling downtown.

I've been sick with flue, stomach virus and cold most of December, but so sick I couldn't get out of my apartment to see Johanne. And, when I did finally get to Harlem Chi shortly after the session began the symptoms started to disappear. My breathing was no longer shallow. I was breathing naturally. By the time the session was over the congestion in my head and chest was significantly reduced. Today, the next day, I'm feeling like my natural self again. I'm taking it easy, but I feel Great!!

Harlem Chi was recommended to me by a friend for a holistic option for pain relief and rehabilitation as I am struggling with some severe hip and back issues. It only took one treatment for me to gain hope that a remedy may exist that does not involve surgery or chemical pain relief.
The office is calm, peaceful and professionally run. The intake was reassuring as all the right questions were asked that provided me - a novice to the process- with clarity of what to expect. Great experience.

Omg, I have had acupuncture at a few different places in the past , but I was very impressed with the ambiance at Harlem Chi. Joanne is also fabulous at what she does and very professional! It was a really nice experience, can’t wait to go back there. I highly recommend it

This was my first time ever doing acupuncture. I was really nervous, but I was put at ease and walked through the process. Not going to lie, it was kind of a weird sensation at first, but I was able to relax. That night my injury felt worse and I was skeptical. But after doing some research I saw that was normal. The next day I felt like 90% better. I’m able to get back to normal life which I wasn’t able to do before. I’m looking forward to coming back to continue the healing process! Thank you!

Johanne & Harlem Chi are a weekly visit for me these days. I live in Harlem and wanted to find a local acupuncturist. I was very happy to find a local place with a fair and affordable price - allowing me to make consistent visits. Highly recommended.

I am not a big fan of needles but, Johanne is great! She listens attentively to your health and wellness concerns and moves forward accordingly. The space is inviting and relaxing. What I love most is that I receive high quality care at a price I can afford.
The online scheduling is easy and it allows me to be consistent and continue the treatments I need for an acute issue.
You are guaranteed to feel better.

Like most New Yorkers, I live with a lot of stress: young children, elderly parents, a busy career, etc. Initially, I went to see Johanne with the hope that she would help relieve some chronic stress-related pain in my arms and shoulders. She's done that and more. I sleep better, have reduced cravings, and generally feel more energetic and centered. I can not recommend her highly enough!

I especially appreciate the community acupuncture setting: you arrive, have a private chat with Johanne about what you want to address, then enter the treatment room to benefit from the collective healing vibe. I'm happy to have this wonderful resource in Harlem.

I had my first appt. yesterday and i left this place wanting to go back. She has charisma and dedication, her passion is noticed once you enter the office. Im starting to feel better, she predicted it before-hand, and now i feel the urge to incorporate acupuncture in my routine.., A huge bargain for acupuncture sessions. And in New York?? Insane!!!

I went on March 19th to a body work Sunday because I wanted to try a few different modalities. I was my first time trying, Reiki, Reflexology, and a 20 minute massage and months later I am writing this review because I have been longing to go back for another Body Work Sunday. The atmosphere at Harlem Chi was very inviting and relaxing and the practitioners really knew what they were doing. I appreciated leaving the session with renewed sense of calm and the warmth the space brought to me.

I really enjoyed the 1 hour body work combo of Reiki, massage and reflexology. The three female practitioners were kind, soft-spoken and caring. For $60 it was a great deal and I will go back!
