I had my first acupuncture session with Johanne yesterday due to an ear ache I was having. I liked the questionnaire as it was detailed and even thought of conditions I didn't think of before. Johanne was wonderful in explaining the process to me and I felt safe, and the needles didn't hurt, and I am afraid of needles! Today the ringing in my ear has calmed down, and I feel more calmer today and not letting situations stress me as before. I'm looking forward to returning. Harlem Chi is the best!

I went to Harlem Chi for severe and persistent lower back pain, following a pulled muscle/ muscle spasm. Having had very limited results from ongoing physical therapy I was ready to explore other options. I had significant pain relief after each session and ultimately after 5 months of a minimum of twice week sessions my back is HEALED. I cannot speak highly enough of Johanne. She is a very warm, calm and intuitive practioner.

I went to Harlem Chi for shoulder pain.After just one session I got great relief and after a few more my shoulder was virtually pain free. I love the spacious, serene, and soothing setting with its meditative music, soft natural lighting, and pretty scarves to cover the clients. Johanne herself is a warm and calming presence. My sessions there have been so restorative and the price so reasonable that I'll be including acupuncture at Harlem Chi as a regular part of self care.

It was truly a therapeutic experience. You feel calm and rejuvenated almost instantaneously. I went with my girlfriend and it took her no time to fall asleep (not that sleep is the purpose of an acupuncture lol).

Was suffering from a severe bout of sciatica, unable to stand erectly or walk at all without help from walking cane. After first two visits walked 9 blocks home. Johanne is gentle, professional and confidence inspiring. Treatments are affordable because they're provided in a relaxed, communal environment.

When my midwife suggested acupuncture for issues in my third trimester, I was shocked. I had never thought of trying it, and now I am so very glad I did. Johanne is incredibly knowledgeable, skilled, calm, and patient. Acupuncture does not hurt, and it does help! I am a hundred times less swollen, and a million times calmer than before my treatment. The best part about acupuncture is the feeling it gives me that I can heal myself with the right encouragement. Thank you, Harlem Chi!

I've been going to Harlem Chi for bi monthly and now more recently weekly acupuncture since my first trimester of pregnancy to try and prevent a medical condition I had with my first pregnancy. No proof that this has worked, but I'm just three weeks away from my due date with no symptoms of the condition. Very happy I stuck with the sessions and grateful for the affordable cost of the packages.

My body improve with just one treatment. Come out of there with a sense of hope , which is a good thing. I wish and pray that one day this alternative treatment will be covered with all health insurance, so many people will greatly benefit from it.

This was my first experience with acupuncture and I am thrilled!!! The space is beautifully decorated, clean, inviting and relaxing. Only steps away from the subway is a definite plus! I have been in shoulder/arm pain for almost two years, and have tried medicine and physical therapy without relief. After my first acupuncture treatment, my pain was alleviated. I look forward to my treatments now!! Johanne is great in explaining everything and has a very calming way about her. Simply amazing!!!

I got diagnosed with a herniated disc about 4 months ago that was causing me constant neck and upper back pain. I consulted a physical therapist and a chiropractor for a while but could find no relief. I then decided to try acupuncture and I couldn't be more grateful to have found Joanne.
