Was staying in WolIongong for a few days and I arrived at the Trek shop after a morning ride on my recently purchased Trek Emonda SLR 7 12speed DI2 (bought from Trek Turramurra). The seatpost had developed a creak. The customer service from Steve and Alex was amazing. Although they had a fully booked workshop schedule they assisted me immediately. Alex completely reassembled the seat post on the spot. He took photos of ensuring all measurements were the same when he put it back together. (As any decent mechanic should do).
I used to work in the bike industry at a reputable store in Sydney and I have ridden Colnago bikes for the last 25 years, which incidentally have always given me problems with frame defects. (Another story for another time). What I’m getting at is the culture at Trek is far superior than anything I have ever seen and experienced before. Not only is the level of customer service and support way above the others, the Trek Carbon care for wheels and lifetime warranty on frames are a no brainer. Of course the Trek and Colnago are a completely different ride. But I gotta tell you. From what I’ve experienced from many years of riding expensive cycles from now on I’m never buying an Italian bike again. Trek forever. Additionally the Trek Emonda SLR7 DI2 is the best bike I’ve ever ridden.
